and they did in fact build them in 2002, with a face-lift:

1999-2003 models were only available to customers outside of the US. We got ours in the 2004 model year. He never mentioned his car was a European spec car, when he had every opportunity to do so. Amazingly, he stopped replying after he said he "would post pics" over a week ago. Plus..he can't even spell "Cayenne" correctly in his sig.

I've done my research from behind the wheel of an '05 Gt3, maybe he needs to do the same. His sig has a Ruf listed among other cars. Don't become a new member of this board trying to B.S. people. The B.S. monitor is pretty accurate around here.

 

The 997 wins from a dig to 100 but the ZO6 is faster from 60-100 by about 0.1s according to Autocar's recent 0-100-0 test.

The 997 does 0-30 in 1.3s!!!!

 

My money is on the Z06 but, its probably more of a drivers race in the end. I found this vid over on MBWorld. A Kleeman Stg 4 CLS 55(600 bhp) vs. C6 Z06 with headers and a tune(475 rwhp). Damn..... its not even a race.

I agree 100% in terms of the drivers race in the end. Can't wait to see one (C6 ZO6) around and we'll see.

How many corvette's do you see? Lots. How many turbos do you see? Not many. I owned corvette's, lots of red necks or porsche wana be's. No comparison.

 

im not comparing the two, i know they are both very different in each of their own ways. I was just amazed at how fast the Z06 is.

 

They are both great cars. You get bang for yor buck and superlightweight in the Vette, and serious contender will all the solidity/prestige and demand with the turbo.

Everyne knows what "turbo" is. Buy what you like. Doen't matter what others think when you're car lenghts ahead.

If I were SCvete00, I would have posted it right away to show all of us doubters the Z06 won. So either the Z06 lost or he made it up. I've seen his screen name viewing this thread, so he is still here lurking. We all want to see the video win or lose, so just post the damn thing already!

 

I see way more 996 Turbos out here then I see Z06's of any year. I see way more p-cars then vettes as well. Guess it depends where you live.
