PorscheC4 , may I ask how old are you ? Just to put your comments in perspective. I hope you do not feel insulted by this question. Just hard to understand your comments in a civilized environment. I am 41 btw.
Im 22. I didnt mean to offend anyone, just stating what I feel and venting a little about some of the ignorant comments. I never said you cannot like corvettes or you have to like Porsches. I am attacking the few classless people who make rude and otherwise comments that arent warranted.

I am (ooops was) not a troll over there either. I was a member for two years dating back to when I owned a C6.

To be completely honest, the guy gave a damn accurate summary of the Z06. A large number of those guys over there just can't stand to hear even ONE negative comment about their "prize". The guy stated the truth....the performance is phenominal and the interior and fit/finish sucks. Hell, one guy (Ronnie C6Z who had a pretty serious run in with Craig on this forum) even said that the fit/finish on his C5 and C6 Vettes were better than any Porsche. Now you have to be a complete idiot to make a ridiculous statement like that. Then it turned to a personal attack on me and the CaymanS I currently own. Hense, my ban on CF.
I like to speak my mind as well, i have stated here what i think about those cars, take them or leave them, they are how i feel and always will. i will NEVER change my opinion on them, not for me to say the least.

I have no problem with you, as you came back and said the right things, something some posters fail to do.

He really did give a fair assessment of the Z06. I also saw your posts and thought all was good. These guys came down on him and you like a ton of bricks, I have never seen anything like that on a forum. And some of the opinions from the Vette guys were absolutely baseless and plain silly.

Can't we all just get along?

As I said, I have my opinions and are entitled to them as much as anyone else. I do not have a problem with people who like corvettes, as thats their choice, just not to my liking. what i dont like is when they say bad things about Porsche guys, so I feel like i need to vent. i said what i said and thats that. As for saying the right things, I am not one to say something and run, or not back it up. I didnt mean to upset at anyone as we are all enthusiasts of cars, or particular cars, and most importantly here, I think we can all stand as one and say we have a love for the Porsche brand. I still dont know why I got my rep power lowered tho for this?

I think theres a point where you have to realistic about a car. No car is perfect out of the box, as we like to say, with the exceptions of prob the CGT, Veyron, and Mclaren. Some people have too much pride to admit the shortcomings of what they have. We are all blind in that regard because we do not want to see something we have as being flawed. No matter how true or miniscule it may be, we want what we have to be better, faster, higher quality, etc than everyone elses. Not to pick on anyone but lately we have had the discussion(arguement is more like it) about the 997S vs. e46 m3. We all know the 997S is the better car, but there are those few m3 guys who cannot see past their own pride to admit it even tho they know its true. most m3 guys will admit the truth and those are the commendable ones, the others are just nieve.

I respect cars for what they are regardless of badge. I tried the Vette route when I had my '05 C6. I came out of an '01 M3 to get the C6. I liked the torque the best but really kicked myself in the *** for settling for that build quality and interior. I saw the new CaymanS, drove it and sold the C6 immediately (in one day on that forum that I am now banned from). I had the C6 for 14 months and thought it was OK...I was just used to German engineering (those guys call it being a snob) This Porsche is the best car I have ever owned and I feel that I am a Porsche guy for life now. I have never been this enthralled in a type of vehcile in all my life. I have recently been reading up alot on the 997S and saw a member's black 997S with Champion 98's and a Rinspeed body and....well......I think I'm in love. Will look into that early next year. I think my wife will kill me though!!!

Well first of all, congrats on the Cayman S, its good to have another happy Porsche owner on the forum. I love the pic of your car in ur avatar. I also love the Cayman S as well. Hey, if you havnt seen it, check out the FDV 3.8 liter Cayman S video, that car sounds soooo ridic sick. racecar for the street with one great exhaust note that not many cars can match. Everything about that car from looks, to handling, to exhaust note(all stock) are great. Do you have any mod plans for it?

I am also a member there, because back when the whole sunroof debacle was just happening on the 997 GT cars, I wanted to see if the Z06 is a viable option.

And if my wife didn't sign on on the GT2, I probably would still be reading that forum.

Let me just say that if I can only afford a non dry sump P car, I will buy the Z06 and never look back.

M64 or no P car for me.

Thank you for the kind comments on the CS. If I keep the CS and don't move to the 997S, I do plan to do some mods. I have H&R Sport springs and 15mm spacers on the rear of my CS so far along with the RH custom wheels. As far as performance mods go, I would really like to get about 75 more HP out of the car. The handling in that car plus 375+ HP in that car would be phenominal. I have seen the video you are speaking of. I agree, it sounds sick!! I think the styling is fantastic but then again I think all the P cars look great. I have seen some 997's with nice rear wings and I am really starting to like those even more so than my CS. Without the rear wing, I like the looks of the CS better. I like the mid engine alot though so that makes me really contemplate what to do. I think I need to just test drive a 997 and see what the handling differences are like. I have some time though to make up my mind. btw, I love this forum. I have learned so much in the short time I have been here.

It really is a great car! I think you will notice the CS handles better than the 997 models. Not so much that its nigth and day, but a good amount more. its said to be the best handling car in the world, and from what i have heard from those who have driven it, i believe that claim. You will find the guys(and girls) on here are first class. They are all soo supportive and you will def end up spending more money, and money you didnt expect to spend on you car. modding is like a drug, ill leave it at that. I just started modding my Carrera 4 Cabrio. first up, gemballa exhaust with 110 mm gemballa tips, anxiously awaiting their arrival. Then lowering springs, intake, 19's and who know whats else. I think mainly you will notice the 997 has more power. i know my car has good power and the 997 has even more. I also love all Porsches. They are top notch and i feel the best all around package, maybe i would include lambos in there as well. Learning is a big part of this forum and all of them for that matter, and the expertise some of these guys have is out of this world and def great to have guys who have experienced every mod of a specific car, or multiple cars. I think they look good with the wings also, i like them either way. one thing to remember, as f'ing amazing as they look in pics, they look even better in person! Again, welcome aboard!

I think it sucks that this forum has just as many idiots posting stupid crap about how sweet the 997/996 is as they do.

We are supposed to be the rich educated forum, at least we tout ourselves that way, so what gives?

I feel like this place just keeps going downhill, it's depressing...
