997 TT Wheels - did I make a mistake?
997 TT Wheels - did I make a mistake?
I was excited to put the first set of the new 997 TT wheels sold in the U.S. on my new C4s Cab. It's not that I don't like the wheels, but here is the problem. Porsche elected to paint the inner wheels a dark grey color. This looks great on every color but black. I have a basalt black C4s. I really didn't realize I had a problem until I put the wheels on the car. It looks like a mis-match. Besides the color, the wheel design is actually really nice.
So, now what do I do? Friends are telling me to have the wheels chromed and they will look great! It will dramatically change the look of the wheel. It could actually look really nice. Option 2 is painting the inner wheel basalt black to match the car. Option 3 is to sell the wheels and start over. Option 4 is do nothing. I only have 500 miles on the wheels.
What would you do?

looks good as is...
I agree with everyone else. It looks great and I wouldnt worry about it. But if it is something that will drive you nuts then I would vote for matching the inner and not chrome. Good luck

You never sleep. As I have been preparing for my lowering job, I started to re-evaluate my wheel selection. I bought the turbo wheel originally because I thought it was important to stay Porsche authentic equipment. (whatever that really means?) I thought the new turbo wheel was the best of my available options. Now that I have decided to lower the car (etc.) I have broken the "authentic" chain. The little issue of a color mis-match on the wheel has now become a bigger issue to me and I figured that I should at least explore my options to correct it. I wanted to see if I was crazy or others validated my thoughts.
Thanks for your support.
Looks great as is! If you want to spice it up a little (and I'm talking small details here) you could swap in some colored Porsche crests...
I think the Turbo wheels look even better on a Carrera than on the TT..
