i placed an order in july for an october build for a 997tt at a new jersey dealer. on october 2nd, the salesman called me and told me that it had started to be built. 10 days later, it had a vin number. a week ago, it was on a boat coming here. i could literally have the car in a couple weeks. fast build, huh?

care to share the dealer info? sounds like a cool dealer/sales person who's actually doing a great follow up. that's hard to find nowadays.

 

I likewise placed my order at the end of July and will have my new Turbo no later than 10/31 but hopefully by the end of this week.

 

the dealer is princeton porsche and the salesman is brian-someone in july gave up their october slot. i ordered a relatively base car-guards red with a tan leather interior with the turbo sports chrono, heated seats and lsd. when i ordered the car in july, i just changed the original orderer's specs to my specs. they do seem to have done a good job on shepharding the order thru. that is why i am amazed when i see all the people in florida and on ebay paying way over msrp. a little patience will get you whatever car you want at msrp

 

I thought it may be Princeton...I used to get my car serviced there and they were great.

It seems we both were fortunate with fast turn around. I order my car on Sept 8, 06.......it was completed production on 10/18 and is ONVSL as we speak.......that is unbelievable delivery timeframe.

My car also seemed to move along pretty quick. Production was completed on September 15, left on the vessell September 19 and arrived at the dealer Oct 10.

One should never pay over msrp, I got mine at roslyn porsche, aka silverstar, at or slightly below msrp. At first they wanted 5k over, I told them forget it, 12hrs later I got a call for msrp or better whenever I want it. Funny how a few weeeks changes everything.
