HP and TQ are a funny thing. It is not always about the peak power numbers which is what most people are concerned with. This car is a perfect example. This 997TT makes about the same peak power and TQ as our Stage 4 996TT. The stage 4 996TT will run ~ 11.5 @ 125 in the 1/4 mile. Then you take our 997TT which runs high 10's at 127 MPH. ~.3 seconds is gained at the launch as the 997TT launches much better than the 996TT. Next, the power curve is much broader on the 997TT giving it more power sooner thus an overall more powerful power delivery at any given RPM point.
We are aware that these cars are not meant for drag racing, however it is a fairly easy method that is widely recognized which is a good indicator as to a cars potential. It is also a bunch of fun and there is no chance of meeting officer friendly
This is in no way the tell all as to a cars performance. This is only one way we use to give a snapshot as to the cars performance potential. The other ways we show the cars potential is through dyno testing, road racing, GPS runs of specific MPH intervals, top speed runs and soon we will be testing on our new engine dyno. All of these testing methods help us to determine the overall big picture of the engine and cars performance. Sorry for the long explanation to your short question, but I think it is important to put it all into perspective.
