That is also a seconadary reason...I enjoy my cars plenty, but, change cars often......Since January 2005, I've owned probably 8 cars........

I always flip, and I'll have you now am meticulous with my cars...follow break-in and NEVER EVER abuse them..I am not in the car business nor a broker..and simply enjoy buying cars, driving them, and selling before I take a huge depreciation hit.....I enjoy my cars!!! and everyone and anyone who knows me would completely disagree with your vast generalizations..

I liked the gallardo better....They are vastly different cars...The Gallardo is an exotic, the 997TT is more of a GT/sports car..Gallardo handles better and has a huge wow factor...Although the TT is faster to 60, at highway speeds, I would say speed is equal. All in all I like my G much much better

lou-how complicated is it to buy a gallardo? do they sell at, above, or below list. how are they maintainance wise-are they reliable? how about resale? is there alot of interior room? happy new year.

I bought a brand new 2006 for $12k off list and negotiated a buy back number before I bought the car..So, I drove the car for 3.5 months and negotiated the buy back at $5k less than I paid...Anyway, they depreciate pretty bad, I was lucky for the dealer to guarantee a buyback number...That said, 2004 and 2005 are good values, although, I owned a 2004 and to me the 2006 is far superior..more hp, lower gearing, improved gearbox, improved louder exhaust, quicker and better all around......Although the 2004's are fairly inexpensive right now, keep in mind Lambos only have 2 yr 24k mile warranties, so most 2004's are out of warranty...You can probably get an 04 for between $130-135k...and 05 for $150ish..Good luck

thanx for the info. even if i could afford a lambo, i probably couldn't physically get in-i am 6'7". the 9997 tt is about the only sports car that i am comfortable in. i had a 996tt-that was also pretty roomy, but the 997 has more headroom and overall room in general. obviously, all of these cars are expensive, but the reliability of the porsche, the ease of using it in all seasons (i put winter tires on it and drive it to work every day, unless more than a few inches of snow is forcast), and the long warranty makes it work for me. the turbo is kind of unique-true super car performance/speed, but needs very little care (just put in gas, change the oil every 10-20 thousand miles, put on the appropriate tires), and you are set. in addition, most 911's are incredibly reliable. i have friends who own new to newer ferraris, and have a close relationship with their mechanics. i see that by flipping your cars, you do well economically with each interaction that you have. the only short coming that you have is that you have to give up a car that you are enjoying, like your gallardo. i have lost tons of money on cars that i have bought and driven-it is tough for me to get rid of them, as many of them i have enjoyed. for example, the 997tt i have bought, not leased-i guess due to the present market situation, if i sold it now, i could probably get most of my money back, but i would have to give up the car, which i wouldn't do, as i ordered it just the way i wanted it, and i love driving it. i know that i will lose money on it, but i will also get significant enjoyment from it. in the end, i guess it depends on how you look at it. a healthy and happy new year to you and all the 6 speeder who read this post.

i bought my Gallardo 22K under sticker, drove it for 1 year and sold it. 10K loss, which is less than i expectedt to lose. i had a hard time selling it, the spread between private party and wholesale(dealer bid) is very wide, up to 20K. i had no repair issues on the G, enjoyed owning it, but would not buy another one.

My situation is different though, I live in Chicago and would not want to drive my Baby in the snow, even though it is made for it..I'm getting another one in April, so why carry the car over winter when I'm not using it that much? Put more miles on it and lose more money, plus I owned it at MSRP $129,640.00. I am 6'4" and I don't like cramming into two seater with a huge jacket, etc, So I buy a car every year from my best friend who owns a BMW dealership in the winter which I will sell in the spring with minimal loss. The Turbo was sitting in my garage in Chicago and I sent the car to Miami in middle december figuring I'd get some use out of it, but found I was driving my Z8 everyday...So, I put the Turbo for sale, sold it to a really nice guy for $135k with as is (Cargraphic super sound export exhaust, fabspeed exhaust tips, HRE 547R 20x9 and 20 x12 wheels with Porsche Tire Pressure Sensors bought separately and integrated into the inner barrel of wheel and Michelin Tires..He also gets the stock wheels with the tire pressure sensors in them as well) Basically I sold the car for $124k and the mods which are worth more for $11k..I had a lot of people interested in the car stock for $124k, but ulimately sold it as is...The guy is getting the car set-up just like he likes it without the agravation and less expensive then it would cost him to replicate the set-up, install, waiting two months for the wheels etc...I never abused the car and followed break-in religiously for the first 2000 miles. Again, I can't stomach losing all that money for no reason..In my case, I'll get a new one in April, 0 miles and discount off MSRP, so I'll be in it for less with 0 miles on the clock...financial speaking it is a very sound desicion and I'm only in South Beach twice a month and never would have driven the car in Chicago if I left it there, so not missing the car just saving loss and owning a new car with 0 miles for less in 4 months...BTW, at 6'7" you would never fit in the Gallardo, I barely fit and only fit in the 6speed, E-Gear can't fit becuase where the clutch is in the 6speed there is a dead pedal in the e-gear that is way up, so my legs don't fit

Yea, my friend owns a BMW dealership, I bought his first 2007 M5 for $82k, he said he'd give me $78k in April...cost me $4k to drive for 6 months...

I know, I do it every year...Last year had a 650 convertible(becuase he said I'd lose less since driving in winter and selling in spring...that also cost me about $4k for 6 months....Can't buy a Ford for that!!
