LukasLuis,

Hmmm, sounds to me you are not happy at all.
I had a 997TT and even though I was unimpressed with it for a couple of reasons, it still is a fast sports car that was built to me used on a everyday any kind of weather basis.
Granted the exhaust sounded like crap in stock form and there is a fix for that, no one makes a car that is perfect for everyone of the showroom floor. Welcome to Political Correctness and all that BS.
Yes the turbo lag is present, it is a turbo cat and unless you go with a custom turbo you will feel that in pretty much any forced induction engine.

Turbo lag is there for a reason it gives you time to put your coffee away in the cupholder.

I think the 997tt is "too soft" and I wasnt happy with it unless I was driving it like I had just stolen it and that is where the problem lies in that I didnt want to do that on a every day basis. I had a GT2 and it spoiled me for any P-car besides the Carrera GT.

Porsche did a kick *** job with the technology in the 997TT, could it have produced more power, of course but they hold them back for various reason mainly warranty issues.
I know it seems ridiculous for defending a car I wasnt happy with but I would never call it a POS.
As far as the Bimmer, that is a different story. Its helluva perfomer once you get past the Bangle design philosophy. Beauty is skin deep but I could not get a feel for them on the visual side not for even a second.

Oh and when did one of the 3 stooges become important in the automotive world.
In the end I understand your frustration and your quarrels with the car overall and you should buy something that makes you happy, always.

Lukas,

Is there a reason why you're posting your dislike of the 997TT on several forums? Are you trying to get a message across to as many folks as possible in hopes of turning them away from getting the 997TT? I'm happy with mine and plan to keep it.

I recently purchased an 07 997TT with a Tip and I have mixed feelings. This is the first Porsche I have owned with a Tip and the only reason I did it so my wife, who is disabled, would get a smoother ride and be comfortable. When I drive the car in the auto mode I am disappointed, however when I shift it manually I really enjoy it. Having owned about 15 previous turbos I can tell you they all feel docile stock. However it does not take much money to wake them up!! Also the quality control on all new cars suck as far as I am concerned. I have a new 06 Murci Roadster and I can't tell you how many times the car has visited the service dept. Also if you want significant HP gains on the Murci you need to take a mortgage out on your house! Finally I owned an 07 M5 with an SMG trans. As far as I am concerned that car is a piece of crap. The tranny is terrible for street use and the quality contol was pathetic. Also the Porsche rides, handles, accelerates, and looks much better.Just my 2 cents

I agree completely with Atomic80. I spent about $150k on my 997TT and still look at it as somewhat of a , gasp, baigain for what it is able to do. Of course, everyone has different expectaions of what the car is and should be, but aside from the turbo lag, I think your criticisms are kind of ridiculous.
