Very disappointed with 997TT
Lukas,
I believe Walter Rohrl ran into the same problem as you and the fixs was to close the sunroof and reboot the ECU by Pressing the sport button and flashing the high beams 3 times. The Sport button light will blink twice indicating you now have the fastest car on the planet.

You were told before you bought the car that you wouldn't like so I'm not surprised by your dissatisfaction. You probably would be well advised to take your T.S. card to the nearest Porsche for a validation punch.
trading my tip for a 6-speed
Decided today to give my 997TT Tip back to the dealer and take a 6-speed. Love the car but after owning all my Porsches with a manual the tip is not my cup of tea. Having puchased many cars from the dealer he will let me order the new car for April del. Just have to decide on what color and options. They say the tip is quicker but I don't care. The 6-speed is a lot more fun to drive and thats what it's all about!!!!.

IMO, they're both fast as hell! I don't understand how LukasLuis can say the 997TT isn't fast enough for him.
Sell the car (997TT) and buy a Carrera GT..... hopefully that will be fast enough for you. Magwheel
p.s. My son has a new Z06 and would love to give me a try but personally.... from what I've read... he may shut me down which would certainly bust my ***!
Then again, my drag racing days are over anyway. I just like to crank my cars up to 90 or 110 when I feel pumped up and then shut em down. I'll leave the street racing to you crazy kids.
Just be careful because being on several car forums, I've read and seen pics and videos where guys are wiping out cars everywhere!

porsche shafts audi again...not really...
<HR style="COLOR: #ffffff" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I've had my 997 Turbo with Tiptronic a couple of months now and it is totally *not* shafting my old 30K km RS6 Plus wagon with a few extra ponies. I think it is time to start saving for a Lambo.
Of all things, the P-car has more comfortable ride than the Audi. Go figure. And the Porsche ceramic brakes are about 10x better than the Audi's...but I'm still underwhelmed with the new car.

My 997TT is in the process of being sold because it failed to impress me compared to a 3 year old Audi wagon. To be fair, my Audi has about 100 hp more than the Porsche and both were driven mostly above the Arctic Circle but then again Porsche tests their cars very close to my "personal" test location.
That said I don't think that my 997TT is slow but it is just not as fast as I'd expect it to be. And it is definitely a little boring, more so than the Audi. I don't really care about the exhaust note or the stereo but they sure are unimpressive. And the overall fit and finish is no better than in my Hyundai Santa Fe. Fortunately mine does not make any extra noises and nothing is falling apart so no complaints there.
I already bought a Gallardo as its replacement and while the Porsche may actually be a little quicker, every time I drive the Gallardo, I have a ****ty grin on my face. To me that IS value for money.
Just my 5 cents.
Cheers!

And whatever happened to your 996TT? I wasn't aware that the temperature above the Arctic Circle can get anywhere near 90 degrees Fahrenheit, much less 100 degrees. It can get pretty cold up there, right? Good thing you didn't buy that F430 Spider.

And what made you pick the 997TT over the SL55, CL55, Bentley Conti GT and Vanquish S?
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...213#post504213
Just curious.
And btw, it's kinda funny how your old cars (RS6 Plus and 996TT) both have 30Ks on them, although one's in miles and the other one's in kilometers.

Trading in the car. Dealer has a slot open for March production and April delivery. Live in NY and have a home in Florida. Buy my cars from a Fla. dealer and leave them in Fla. Will go over colors and options in about 1 week.Miss my 6 speed.I also feel the 997 turbo is the best turbo built yet!!!!!
Torque not high at 2000 rpm

There is general agreement that the 2000 rpm torque values are not true as advertised.
