It wont compete performance wise with the current engine, but if they bring the price in right, I'd take it over a C4S. Looks cools, great handling, exclusive. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Porsche around here.

I think car and driver or one of those mags ran a 4.0 0-60 and a 12.6 quarter mile at 110mph. Something like that.

yea, not to mention 996TT's in bone stock for will trap anywhere between 116-118, so that r8 is off by 6-8 mph. thats a lot of trap speed it cannot make up even being lighter and having more hp than a stock turbo. the key, it has no tq, only like 317. i think this car is more aimed at a 997S, and fails in my opinion, but if it sells for $110K like it might, it will be in GT3 territory price wise, and it will fail miserably to compete there. in fact it wont compete!

Walker is infamous around these parts
Am I wrong that they said they were thinking about a V12 diesel being the fastest R8 they will produce, not the V10?

would it put up a fight with the mighty 911 turbo?

Don’t leave the torque and drive train out of the equation. I think 317ft/lb coupled with a 6 speed transmission is going to cause some relative performance problems. I’m no expert by any means but this combination should be no match for the turbo of the same weight.

The only way we get away with the lower torque in the M5 is because of the 7speed sequential and 500 HP, still the M5 lacks that low end punch that could put it in another class. Then again the Audi is 600lb lighter, so maybe this makes up for it?
