997 TT PowerKit Update....
Only way it becomes remotely even close to worth it is with bigger turbos, bigger IC's, etc ala the X50 package so it's upgradeable. Even then the aftermarket presents a far, far better value.
Can't assume costs like that. Pricing on cars/options in Europe are far different than they are here. Cars (and parts) here tend to be quite a bit less expensive. For example, the Audi RS4 is about $65K here, but it is about $65K Euro in Europe, that would be about $85K.
And 18,000 pounds is closer to $35,000 !!! The X50 package was only 8,637 pounds. Curious on the massive price bump.

i doubt the power kit will cost more than 20k USD... they will not sell one if its over... but as far as the power kit it self... i would definitly order it... just remember how much better the K24 was than the K16 before the Hybrids came out...

Porsche power kits NEVER represent HP value for the money. There's really no reason for them to be priced like they are other than to gouge owners. The aftermarket proves what these things should cost, and some would even argue that's too high at times, but if you allow for some extra $ in Porsche's pricing for possible additional warranty work you still wouldn't come up with a number that's even half of what they charge. At around 5-7 grand the take rate on orders would probably be 10 times what it is now and that would probably be more profitable for them. Who knows the logic ...

power kits are really pricey.......obviously there will be some buyers so Porsche isn't worried about selling a whole lot of them.
but i don't think hardcore enthusiasts who plan on modifying their cars would consider paying 17k

I'm well aware of how much they charge for upgrades ($$$$$$) but I'm sure they provide better value for money than Porsche AG.. AND you get a warranty to boot..
