As much as I hate to admit it, a 997TT would be more of a lateral move while an F car ,upward. Can't believe I just typed that, my Bavarian ancestors are spinning in their graves!

Get the 360 Modena for the different feel and experience or you could start to enjoy your 996TT more by making it faster

I was in the same situation as you. I was debating between my 997 turbo or a 360 modena. I was very close to buying a 360, beautiful cars, but under powered. Knowing the 430 was out and have heard it is a far superior car than the 360. I could not convince myself to spend 130k on a 360 when I can spend the same amount on a 997 turbo and have similar preformance to a 430. I am Ferrari fan at heart my favorite car period. But the 360 just didn't do it for me. I really want a 430, so until the prices soften up, the turbo is a good sports car for the time being.

The 360 will be a letdown.
I don't agree with this statement at all. The 997TT is a better performing car by a wide margin, nearly 15-20 seconds faster at the 'ring.

It's not all about ring times if you aren't a 100% track junky. On the road, the difference is probably pretty slim. And if you were a 100% track junky a GT3 would probably be the way to go. Therefore a modded 996tt is no slouch compared to a 997tt to somewhat normal car enthusiasts who drive on the road. That's why I think it would be better for the OP to add a Ferrari (in keeping with this thread ).

Of course, you do not want the Ferrari to break

Forget the 997TT.
Upgrade the 996TT to make it your "fast machine". Get the 360 for that ultimate driving experience (forget BMW), and you said you still have another DD. Perfect.

997TT or F430

I when thru the same torture. My income in the last couple of years has gone thru the roof.I have had so many cars.I wanted something different a fERRARI F430 ,I went to the dealer and sticker on the F430 I was looking at was 196k,I was ready to write a check,But,The dealer wanted 242k.Well you must buy the 1st fERRARI over sticker from the dealer,Then on the 2nd fERRRARI purchase you get it at sticker. If you want to sell the 1st or 2nd fERRARI at anytime. You must bring it back to the dealer in order to get another fERRARI, If you sell it private. You will not get another fERRARI at sticker again and will be black balled from the list. Also service runs a $1 a mile 5k mile service is $5000, In any event, Every fERRARI I looked at had under 1800 miles,These people don't drive them. They look at them in the garage.I was on the list from Porsche at the time,They called.I paid. The
997TT is faster than the F430 and I drive the TT everyday.
