Nothing executive about the 3 series. Fun if you're up front, not in the back. I think the 5 meets your needs. Can't you get a used 7 in this range? I have a 750 and I love it.

If you're looking at a BMW X5, have you thought of the Cayenne S or a used turbo? I used to have an Audi S6 and swapped it out for a '06 Cayenne S. I love the car and I didn't think I was an SUV guy either.

Oh, in the process of buying the "S" I tried an turbo. It was a blast!! Given that this was going to be my kids and commute car, I went with the "S". (There's been days I wished I bought the turbo tho.)

Also, with the new model coming out, you may be able to get a good deal on a new 1st gen turbo.

If u need a 4wheel drv for snowy weather then a RS4, otherwise M5. I personally don't like the BMW interrior. both are cool cars compared with the ls

Have you thought about an S4 Avant? There's something I love about fast wagons, and they make great daily drivers. I test drove one and I was pleasantly surprised. I drove it and the 335 back to back and liked the S4 better.

With 800-1500$ depending on the chip, you can make the 355I 400whp. Some are dyno'ing between and 380whp and 405whp. I've been debating getting a 335i myself for daily.

I have an RS6 as my daily driver and I love it. Prices have dropped on these cars quite a bit in the last 6 months (mid 50s for a nice one)as many have come off lease. The interior is a bit dated compared to many of the other cars listed. However, good space, sounds great and tons of torque. CPO or extended warranty of some sort would be a must for me with this car.

Still love my M5

Despite having to do service visits for the VANOS line recall and a failed SMG pump, I still love my E60 M5. Its great choice for a DD with a racing soul. If you want a pure DD for city driving, I think an E55 would be better.

I have driven the 335i extensively and it is a great car and great value-- but it a bit small if you really plan on using the four doors and haul four adults. I would think you'd want at least a mid-sized sedan to complement the TT.

How about a 2005 997S 13500mi in mint cond loaded? LOL. Check out the for sale section (finally posted pictures). If it must have 4 doors I would go with an M5 but I have no experience with Audi so I would look into some of their 4 doors with a lot of HP.

In that price range I would suggest one of the following. I like the mention of the RS4 but they don't come in automatic/tip. As a daily I would want automatic.

Here are my recommendations from 50-75K

- Range Rover (Sport or Full size)
- MB S55 / E55 Wagon / CLS55 / CL55 or 600
- X5 4.8IS
- RS6
- Audi S6
- BMW 7 Series

Good luck!
