Great looking Turbo. GT3 nose looks like it really belongs there.

Stephen,

Looks great, very aggressive stance. Like Ken asked, any scraping issues? I'm considering lowering my turbo as well. Any info on sping type, how did you deal with PASM, amount lowered and ride (in normal and sport modes) would help.

TIA,

Mike

Forgot to ask how much you lowered and did you use any wheel spacers?

TIA again!

I like very much the rear diffuser. In terms of the skirt, the issue is why does it go beyond the rear arch?

I have some on inclines like my driveway. I have to come at it on an angle. Normal driving is fine, speed bumps are fine.

The PASM is still working and the springs were designed to workwith the syatem. The care was lowered was about an inch.

Thanks for the feedback gang.

No, I used the TA springs. I am not a big fan of the H&Rs mainly because they are short in the perch. At least on the 996TT they are. Therefore under big bumps the springs can shift and make noise. The TA units are proper length on th perch.

It is about 2 hours a corner to do it if you are average speed.

The TECHART technicians Winfried and Achim just returned to Germany yesterday. While here they dialed in the U.S. software for the T1 (stage 1) and T2 (stage 2) kits. We installed the T1 kit on a customer car and the T2 on our white demo car (now at the Atlanta Auto Show). These kits are ready to go. The T3 kit (currently shown at Geneva) is still under development.

The T1 kit consists of a high-flow air filter, carbon airbox cover, exhaust manifolds, and reprogrammed ECU. 520hp without exhaust, 540hp+ with exhaust. 73 ft-lbs of additional torque!

The T2 kit consists of high-flow air filter, carbon airbox cover, exhaust manifolds, modifed T20 variable Turbochargers and a reprogrammed ECU. 580hp without exhaust, 600hp+ with exhaust. over 100 ft-lbs of extra torque and an amazing torque curve.

These kits will be added to our website later today.

That's good news Mark... Amazing what can be done with some tuning on these cars... I think one of them was apparently up here a couple of weeks ago and I missed meeting them sadly.

Stephen, I asked elsewhere in this thread but perhaps no one noticed it. Is it true that lowering springs will lead to pre-mature wear of the shocks? Thought I read that somewhere and would appreciate your thoughts on that.

Yes and no. If you do it on a new car the shock travel has not worn into the shaft. So imagine after thousands of miles the same track wearing and then stopping at a certain point. There are dust sheilds and covers that prevent crap from getting on the shaft, but it still doesn't stop everything. The issue is here....you do it to an older car with mileage that crap stops short of the seal because it has been the normal travel path. Now you lower the car, guess what. That crap that remained short of the seal now passes beyond the seal. You may or may not have an issue, but the chances increase dramatically of premature failure.
<O</O
On a new car this is not really an issue since everything is new and that line probably does not exist. <O
