Warning to excessive engine modders!

I got an email from Design 911 in the UK who are offering a 997turbo engine for sale? 15000 pounds sterling or $29460 !!!!

Watch out you dont blow yours up at this cost, I guess that is out of a wreck at that price too?

Thats cheaper than I thought it would be. When BMW had to replace my engine in my E46 M3 because of a manufacturing defect the bill was $16K. One of the reasons I am hesistant to mod because BMW was looking for every reason to not pay for the job then and mods would have definitely come back to haunt in that situation.

Hmm, that is not bad. If you holed a case I couldn't rebuild it for cheaper than that.

I thought a GT3 engine runs about 40k, how can a TT motor be 1/2 price?

according to my Porsche system a 997 GT3 re-man motor lists for $21,452.44 with a core price of $11,046.52, so they are very close in price, which again suprised the hell out of me when i checked this for you guys.

I guess I was thinking of new prices, if you could even buy a 'new'/nonre-man motor.

Chris if its a new GT3 motor you are looking at $46,433.71, but of course they are not available from Porsche

if you buy a re-man motor the core price is what you are required to pay if you do not return your old motor, but if you buy a re-man and return your "core" engine you do not pay that price

Interesting info Jay. Not as bad as first thought. Still steep but more realistic. In other words what Design 911 are offering is on the steep side?
