i went today (wed)-i agree, porsche should be ashamed of themselves. the rep at the show said that porsche thought that they were going to get more room then they got. she said that ferrari got some of their space. more importantly, she said that porsche had their turbo and gt3 at a special party across the street from the javitz center during last weekend for their best customers. i have owned 10 porsches, and presently own 3, including a 997tt. i went to the show with a buddy, who has owned about 10 porsches himself, and currently owns 1. we weren't at that party. was anyone on this board there?

Size of the space? You get what you pay for!!! I was at the "special party" and they were complaining about the display of models (or lack there of). I thought the rest of the show was pretty good. But Porsche looked like they were selling wicker furniture. Even the color selection was horrible.

I was there also and one of the sales guy's from the Porsche section said that they didn't want people all over the 997TT's and GT3's because they were too special and did not want to put them behind ropes.

I stopped going to the NY auto show years ago. It's always a weak turnout for car manufacturers.

i wonder-how do they decide who to invite to their special party? i am sure that all of you guys deserved to go, but i am wondering what type of customer that they were looking for.

The salesmen submit customer names, that's the whole process. Most just blow it off I think.

After 6-7 years straight, i decided not to go this year b/c it seems like it has been getting more lame every year. After reading the other posts, it looks like it was the right decision. A 5 minute drive to Champion/Bentley/Lamborghini L.I. will yield 100 times the fun.
