SIM card reader/Telephone module for PCM

Gentlemen,

I have the telephone module for PCM, however, it's a hassle to constantly remove the SIM from my cell and insert into the PCM everytime I drive the car. I've read other scenarios where members duplicate their SIM and leave another in the car. I just switched to Cingular and I asked the representative but he was clueless and said that only one SIM can be active at once, but often these people don't have a clue. I realize I could just add another line but that would allow me to make calls via the PCM not receive them from the number that all my contacts have. I usually receive calls when driving and hardly ever dial out so that scenario wouldn't be ideal. TIA.

Correct; if you have duplicate SIMS .. only one will have service at any given time. People usually turn off their phones when using their cars.

IMO,

Its easier to get a prepaid simcard for the car.

On long trips, I simply forward calls from my normal phone to the car. Only takes a few seconds to set up. Just be sure to turn off forwarding.

Another solution that I haven't tried yet is to set up conditional forwarding on the Car's SIM and make that your primary number. The idea being that when the car is off, calls get forwarded to your normal cell. Drawback, of course, is if someone else is driving the car they will get your calls...

You can also turn on call forwarding on no answer/busy. If your other phone is off, the phone in your car will ring immediately and your callers still used the number they are used to.

Some carriers don't charge for forwarding calls if you stay on their network.

I may try either the call forwarding idea or the family plan idea. The only issue is that I have used the max of 5 lines on my family plan so I would have to kick someone off and get them another plan, I guess I have to do that anyway in July for another member of my family to add-on.

you can copy GSM SIM card copy.
try Ebay, tons of simillar products around, and yes you can only keep one phone online at one time.

Papasuperman,

So you're saying If I get another SIM with the same info from Cingular and turn off my phone when I'm in my turbo, it will forward all the calls to my PCM?

Poor Cingular Service

I have a Cingular sim card in the phone module. Reception is terrible and I hardly use the phone. Are there other companies that use Sim carks. Sprint does not. Thanks
