Why would max-boost vary a bunch? Problem?
Why would max-boost vary a bunch? Problem?
I usually have the analog boost gauge displayed on the dash.
Evey since getting the Stage III kit, in Sport mode max boost quickly pegs to the right.
Today I noticed that it is not pegging. It goes about 2/3 of the way to the right.
Should I be worried? If normal, what factors would lead to max boost varying?
FYI, this was on a short trip with car warmed up, but it wasn't like I was really flogging it.
Perhaps relatedly, I have read many threads about "boost hose" problems. Is the above consistent with this?

Just some guesses but:
EGT's getting high, ECU pulling back
Crap 91 octane CA fuel, ECU pulling back again
Even stock TT's in sport mode see varying boost levels, at least thats what Im gathering from a few posts.
