I really like the new turbo wheels and have gotten compliments on how great they look from neighbors. I spends hrs and hrs cleaning and waxing them in the past 2 days.. now they are pristine inside and out.

Yes, I've been out to the garage a number of times over the last 24hrs!
I even jacked it up and crawled undeneath to check **** out......at 3am this morning!
The wheels are some of the strongest/lightest BBS has ever made, I would never switch them for the heavier, cast, weaker GT3 wheels.

I was working on the wheels last night in the garage on my 56 yr old back and knees til 2 am,, until my wife started screaming at me to come inside.

The wheels need lots and lots of attention. Mine are perfect now,, 8 hours later.

by the way,, i need an Orthopod with all that extra activity!! Is that your specialty?? lol

Congrats guys! Both cars are beautiful! Don don't feel bad I'm almost 49 with 2 back surgeries for herniated discs and I still get on my knees to detail my car. At this age you begin to realize that you have a few more good years in you and you better enjoy them while you can. Guys enjoy your cars in good health! We are so lucky and fortunate to own a car like this........... Sometimes I have to pinch myself to be sure its not just a dream
and then I say to myself............so where do I go from here? I mean after you get used to driving a car like this there are not too many cars around that can top this one, especially for the price............... Cheers!

I know what you mean. The obvious choice...the 998TT.

Congrats Cabman. It looks stunning in GR. That was my 2nd choice.

Thanks Dennis

I woke up at 6 35 am,, instead of turning the coffee on and making my bagel,, i headed straight for the ,,,,, garage!!

took the cover off,, and gazed at the car for 20 mins..

I havent acted like this since purchasing my 993 in 1995. I loved the cab 996 but it didnt get my attention like this car for some reason. I dont miss it at all but when I had it I loved it.. But I did miss my 993 until NOW.

Now I have to plan a day trip for the wife and I. Too many cops on the road in Fl today and tomorrow. They have issued a record number of citations. Maybe we will wait until tuesday to do a big trip and just keep it local for the next several days.

I hear Alligator Alley is like the autobahn,, no speed enforcement and good for having some fun.

Don,

Don't worry about the cops. Go enjoy your car. You can accelerate like hell up to the speed limit, without getting a ticket, and that's just as fun. Besides, just cruising in this car is fun. And, the more miles you log, the closer you are to finishing the break-in!!

WRT the wheels, I know what you mean. I used Wheel Wax and that seems to be working real well. Very little brake dust with the ceramics, but it just washes off easily with the hose. I took the next step as well, polishing and waxing the stainless rotor mounts. They got a little stained during post-production, but look just like off the assembly line now!

BTW, my wife asks me "Do you REALLY enjoy doing this stuff?" lol

Hi Ken

I hate cleaning the house, the kitchen, bathrooms, etc,, BUT, I could spends 12 hours a day cleaning my Porsche.

My finger nails get so dirty nothing gets them back to normal when I use them as scrapers.

The wheels were so pathetic when I got the car but now they are pristine.

My wife just doesnt understand why I am so enamored with this metal, plastic, glass and rubber, etc thing in our garage.

Today I windexed the all the windows 3 times (inside and out),, now they sparkle.

When is the next concours event?? lol

Cabman,

Try blowing the wheels off with a lawn blower to get most of the brake dust out. Then spray with water and use P21 or eqv wheel cleaner, I use a cheap 3" paint brush for the tight places and a rag. Rinse off and blow dry the rotors to keep rust from forming. Only takes a few minutes per wheel.

Be careful that brake dust is kinda toxic not only to breath in but to your paint too.

Don, to get them sparkling clean for a long time:

- Spray them with P21S wheel cleaner gel (same stuff packaged in Porsche bottles)
- Rinse them well
- Use 3M adhesive cleaner to clean any gummy stuff
- Wash them with mild soap
- Rinse and dry
- Clay them
- Rinse again and dry
- Apply Rejex
- Then use a dashboard car duster and quick detailer to maintain them weekly
