Any way you look at it, you WILL get raped. So, if you want it badly enough, just bite the bullet and do it. See if you can get a deal as a repeat customer. I got a decent deal due to that fact. The difference in discount between my current dealer (where I'm a repeat customer) and another one where I've never purchased a car was HUGE!

 

Ask them if you can keep the jar of vaseline afterwards

What do you think you can get on the open market for this car? Ebay or Autotrader? Have you tried that market first and then perhaps find a TT then?

997TT's are soft, should be able to get a slightly used one 5-10K under MSRP

 

They must be really soft, I got my new one for $5K under MSRP...I wonder how bad they are really. I typically keep my cars for about 4 to 7 months. Yes, I do take baths over all the vehicles with the CL55 AMG being my worst purchase ever...lost $36K after 3 months of ownership. Didn't help I did Kleeman Stage 2 which cost me another 10K or so. Worst car I've owned in the last 5 years.

 

I got 5K off new as well, just saw a 142K MSRP with 3K miles go for 127K
