your car sounds beautiful-i would definitely get the s-i believe the xenons are standard in the s-i would also get the sport exhaust. there is not that much extra acceleration in the s, but you will **** yourself off if you don't get it. i have a turbo, but i really think that the s handles better-it feels lighter and sportier. the acceleration of the turbo interests me, but i coudn't fight you if you said that the s was an overall better ride for the real world (where you don't need 480 hp). good luck with it.

The S is the way to go, trust me! Its one hell of an automobile (in some ways better than the almighty Turbo).

Thanx guys, I am going to go today and drive an S. They have one on the lot it just doesnt have all of the options I want. I just worry that I would get the S just to satisfy everyone else, but if I was sitting in the one that I built with the full leather sports seats etc I would be more excited. Time will tell.

drive them both and see how u like it. don't worry about what people want, in the end you will drive the car day in and day out. i think the S is kewl with it's toyz that come standard. don't buy a car off the lot unless u r 100% sure that is how u want it

I did the same. I drove the S (more top end. felt the same down low.) and ordered a C2. I am installing an EVO SC 470HP for the same price as the S option. PM me with any questions.

Well Guys, I just got back. I drove an S and can say that there is a definate improvement in performance. Is it enough for 150 a month, Im not sure. I then drove the non S and it still put a very big smile on my face. Now the big problem. They have a Carrara on the lot in the color I want, but no Xenons Stickers at $79980. With the new price increase the one that I ordered will be around $85100. They will discount the 07 4k do you think that is enough to get the car now? or they will do 2k on the 08 ordered car. Anyway on a lease that will translate to this $1178 per month on in stock car. $1260 on ordered car or $1320 on Basic S with a few options. I really don't know what to do because I have told my wife the car was around $1100 per month.

Here is specs of the instock car.

997:
Carrara White
Black Leather Sports seats
19 Carrara Classics Wheels
Sports Chrono
Heated Seats
Bose
Crest in Headrest
Colored Crests

Not to be rude but you need to do more research, you're just not ready to buy in my opinion - you need to understand how many of these cars are on lots, with a new model readily approaching.

You should be cross shopping across the country, discounts on 07's that are on lots are at 10%. It's not like this 997 generation is rare or anything - check ebay.

With the vast rate in depreciation i would honestly say you are much better off buying a used 06 's' with under 8000 or so miles, as you will be sure to lose around 15k + in the first two years of ownership on a new one.

Just my thoughts, best of luck,

Josh.

Go to http://www.porsche.com/usa/dealers/
You can search the inventory of every dealer in the country. List is fairly accurate but not exact. If you find a car that makes you happy make an offer but take into consideration delivery. I'm sure that all but the smallest dealers can quote you an approximate delivery price and make arrangements for the delivery. I would think that, at a minimum, you should get at least 10% off. I bought a launch edition S shortly after introduction and got 11.8% off but it was a highly optioned car ($99,300 sticker). On the other hand, when I traded it on my turbo, I got nothing off on the turbo last year. Good luck, enjoy, and get the car that makes you happy. Don't settle!

Well guys I called another dealer and they told me they would take off 10% of an 07 and would be more aggressive on the 08 if I ordered one from them. Problem is I think the car at the first dealer thats in stock is perfect minus Xenons but they wont take more the 5% off. What should I do???

Thanx for all your help
