Black Rubber Trim And Water Spots

Probably being ****, but I seem to have what can only be described as water spot stains in my rubber mouldings around the doors and windows from the south Florida rain and then sun baking it in after a passing rain shower.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove and then protect? I know I can put a rubber dressing on it, but it is only temporary and returns in a day or so... I am looking for a product that will remove the spots and then a product to protect.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

Wink seals

Use either Son of a Gun or Lps silicone spray on seals.

Never use a oil based product on epdm ( buna ) rubber or silicone it will make them dry out.

I mfg silicone seals for aircraft, also valve cover gaskets for various engine mfg's.

We also do valve cove gaskets for VOR , Husaberg,KTM, Ducati Motorcycles

We are presently doing more than 250 new production aircraft per month.

Need someting custom made or a sample ?

I agree...never use oil products. While they may clean the area, it will ultimately break down the rubber.

Are you trying to clean it? Or hide it? Most water spots are mineral based...soap and water will usually get them out, but treating the rubber with silicone will keep it healthy.
