You wouldn't go up a curb at 50mph, and new asphalt is 3-4"...

Road Hazard Warranties are a giant run-around. I have to deal with them, and HATE them.

On more than a few occasions, the rim is clearly bent, but does hold air, but will not go into a perfect road force balance (due to the bend)... So I speed up this claims process and do the following:

-Take one heavy SUV
-Lift rack up a foot higher than the wheel on its side
-Place wheel where rack will hit a lip
-Repeat process until bent out where it won't hold air
-Call the company and tell them the pictures are on the way, so no need to waste time and have an inspector come out
-Problem solved
-Customer is satisfied and thinks the warranty is great

Wow, I feel your pain. I live in Bethesda and commute to Columbia for work so the construction on 95 has been getting me for the past month or so. Luckily I haven't had any tire problems jumping from the old to the new pavement but lots of trucks have kicked up rocks and debris on my front end and windshield (no chips thank god). MD road construction never ends...

Quote: You were close to the location. This happened on 695 around Baltimore. This kind of stuff makes me feel the TT is too good to use as a daily driver.
I know exactly where you are talking about. I travel that route to get to work. When the road changes to the grooved surface, gravel kicks up from every car in front of you. I was in my M5 with 20" wheels so changing lanes was out of the question due to the ridge so I had to deal with small stones hitting my bumper and hood. If it isn't the wheels and tires, it is the paint. I was furious. Good luck with the repairs. Where did you buy your car? Tim at Parts at Len Stoler has always gotten me great prices on tires (at or below tire rack prices) for my 997.

Vincy

I just got the car and didnt file anythng yet, thank G-D..

I read the reviews but they were in 2003 and 2004 and I am sure things have changed.

I queried Donnie, the Finance Manager at Porsche of Melbourne for an hour about this. He called the company 3 separate times with my questions and I got the scoop.

It's unlimited coverage up to a $5000 max lifetime benefit on hazard damage to the wheels and tires.

For $676 it was a no brainer.

Check it out.

Don

Dave, did you get the hazard ins too? I know you were talking about it with me. The rates and coverage changed from the time you bought your car til the time I bought mine.

I passed on the FWS hazard insurance because the chickie in the finance dept. said it was only good for the "original" set of tires.......I guess she could be wrong.....but it was enough for me to pass on it at the time.

Filed the clain and waiting
I needed the costs from the dealer to file the claim, this is now done and I'll wait to see what they pay. I got the car from Porsche of Ohio and the crew there, Chris Sanner and others, are going to bat for me with the insurance company. They are a good broup.
