1st Week with GIAC Stage 2+ /Champion Intercooler/Tubi Catless Race Exhaust 991 TTS!!
I have now driven my newly modded car hundreds of miles since I got it back from Champion Motorsports last week and I have some impressions. My drives included about 150 miles going far out in Long Island during a work day, a 150 mile drive on Saturday as part of AMG of the Northeast's AC Poker Run exotic car rally and a series of highway pulls against modded GTRs.
Overall, the addition of the GIAC Stage 2 Plus, Champion intercoolers and Tubi catless race exhaust really changes the character of the car. The throttle smoothness and tip in point are unchanged from GIAC Stage 2.
It is no so different than Europipe levels of noise on normal during highway cruising but is a much wilder and louder when you are hitting it on sport or sport plus.
If you are on it especially in sport and sport plus you hear the turbos spool. You hear the wastegate. The exhaust noise is a lot louder. In short, the car comes alive. Also, the feeling of acceleration especially when already going fast is much greater than GIAC Stage 2 with stock intercoolers.
Oh and the best part. In sport and sport plus the car literally pops and backfires with rifle shot loudness when you back off the throttle after being on it hard. And you see flames in the exhaust during shifts or when you back off a hard throttle on sport and sport plus.
The car is a LOT faster in a roll race than before. I got a chance to do three hard highway pulls against a GTR with pull bolt ons using pump gas and destroyed it. The car did lose to a GTR with full bolt ons that was running E85 and probably putting close to 700 bhp to the wheels. In that run I had a passenger which did not help my car's performance but even empty I believe the E85 GTR would have beat my car. My car was on a mix pf 92 and 93 octang.
So my verdict is that while the numbers at events will give a more concrete answer the car feels a lot faster and more consistent.

IF you can quantify it...how much would u say (seat of the butt meter) is due to the change in exhaust and how much due to the tune and IC's? the fact that u didnt track it or do repeated pulls....how much a factor did the tune and ic play in your experience...
thanks
thanks

1. 550 bhp and 559 lbs ft with the Europipe exhaust with 100 cell cats
2. 566 bhp and 577 lbs ft with the Tubi catless race exhaust

I have had Stage 2 and tubi Exhaust since i think jan.
So, i tell you there is definitely more power in the upper RPM range.
it feels more free and natural now!
SDG, Yes i know NYC roads are worse then most third world countries.
