How tunable is the 997 compared to the 996?

We've seen in the past year a few 800+wheel HP 996's on this board. How tunable is the 997? I think the 997 motor is pretty much exactly the same as the 996 including internals(correct me if im wrong). I think the biggest differences are the electronics. Does that mean the 997's have the same ability to achieve 800+whp? Is it just that no one with a 997 has stepped up yet to achieve high HP's?

bmorrell is infamous around these parts
Probably about the same. It's just that the 996 has obviously been out for a lot longer, and more products have been developed as a result. That's my guess..
