engine rattle on turn off

Just picked up my turbo this week and noticed everytime I shut down the car the engine rattles. Its like the car shakes and i hear this rattling noise as it turns off. Is this normal? TIA

Aside from this rattling the car is AWESOME!

Atomic80,

Does it happen every time you shut off your engine?

Mine does that every time I shut down the car. I wouldn't say that it sounds like a rattle, it feels more like it shakes slightly whenever I shut down the car.

Same here - kind of freaked the first time. I don't think it is the same every time though.

sounds familiar to me also, and I kind of like the shake down. However, it is more shake than rattle.

yep, as I found out (see thread) it's much less noticible if you shut down with the clutch in and the car in gear.

Ditto - shut it down with the clutch in - much reduced...almost non-exisitent rattle this way.
