Turbo PSE is coming!
Turbo PSE is coming!
According to some well-placed sources, PSE for the 997 Turbo is under development and due sometime soon, perhaps within months. And it is expected to be a retrofit option as well.
I hope the exhaust has a horsepower gain similiar to the aftermarket ones unlike the 997S. i haven't upgraded my exhaust yet because I actually like it after having PSE on my 997S. Did not have the switch installed so it was on all the time. I think thats a nice option to have and if I do it again it will be installed (unless its no longer part of the package).

Actually, for any vehicle 2006 or newer, replacement of the OEM catalyst is not allowed for vehicles that are still within their warranty period.
Furthermore, there must be an "Exemption Number" available through the California Air Resource Board (CARB) for any catalytic convertor to be considered street legal in California for any vehicle. You can find this information here http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/afterm...ces/amquery.php
If you live in California please be very careful regarding "50 state street legal" claims regarding catalytic convertors. Beware of manufacturers who are new to the game and have not done their homework or are willing to take the risk of deceiving their customers.
I would hate to see 997 owners left with a vehicle that is not street legal. At the very least, re-purchasing the stock exhaust setup is a costly endeavor not to mention the hassle.

Lets say....I was driving along and ran over a piece of road debris that tore into my exhaust damaging my converter?
Im not worried living in CA installing a new exhaust - so long as it passes smog.

Aftermarket guys must be lovin' this news!
But the price point will still make aftermarket stuff a better buy, just look at NA 996 cars, PSE is readily available, but a ton more(cheaper) aftermarket units were sold. The guys who don't mind dropping 6k on a CG system will be all over this like a bad toupe on a bald man.
