Interesting akinla, is the ground smooth enough for our cars? I will look into it? Keep the suggestions coming guys, when I was a member of a Bay Area Corvette club (no flames please) we had weekend trips that members attended and it was a blast! We all had 2-way radios, making it easy to communicate with each other. This took place right on our local California roads but roads picked wisely for specific interests. Lets just say we split ourselves up and assigned one guy to be the lookout for the front of the pack and one for the rear of the pack. Now the front guy could be up ahead 1/4 to 1/2 mile or more and broadcast to cars behind him. His job was not just looking out for smokies but bicycle riders, pedestrians, animals, traffic conditions, etc. These roads were fairly remote to start with consisting mostly of twisties but the lookout guy had a major responsibility making sure the conditions remained safe. Everyone took turns filling in the "lookout" position so one guy wasn't expected to do this all day long. The rear guy's job was easier..........make sure nothing passes him that might cause a problem. Keep in mind that we didn't drive on these roads like a bunch of maniacs, it was just fun, especially if done right. Safety was a #1 priority and none of us took that lightly. If you just wanted to enjoy a relaxing drive you would just fall behind (and be the rear lookout guy lol). Usually the final destination involved lunch, dinner, or a specific event. Afterwards we would all head home on our own. Just thought I would toss in more food for thought? Any more ideas?

Steve, I am very familiar with hwy 1 but have never gone past mendocino. I think I will look into Yuba City / Marysville route. Just yesterday at about 5pm (everyone is heading home) I took hwy 1 to Bodega and then shot across to Petaluma. Major events going on at Infinion Raceway so I passed on a little 100 octane for the car. With 3200 miles, and bone stock, its perfect in the HP/Torque dept, the only thing I am going to work on is eliminating the occasional "floating" feeling I get if I push it hard around the twisties. This week I have some spacers I want to try out as a starting point anyway. Thanks for the tip...............California may not have the highest octane gas in the west but we sure do have some beautiful scenic drives to explore.
