GIAC race program

Who has it in their car? I hear its supposed to give you close to 700hp (crank) with 100 octane gas on a stage 3 (exhaust, air filter, GIAC) 997tt. Is that true?

What hp and torque should I be making with a stage 3 with 93 octane program?

Thanks.

I have it (690R set up). Turbos are stock, but you get new intercoolers.

I have done 3 or 4 track days with the Evo MS 690R program (expertly installed by Sharky). It definitely makes a difference. Not sure how much is the 100 octane gas and how much is the gas + the special GIAC program, but something gives it a lot of extra kick (especially compared to crappy CA 91 octane w/ ethanol)

If your Q is "should I get it?" the answer is for sure yes, if you ever will have access to 100 octane gas (track or otherwise). The price is very low, especially after you have shelled out the $$ for the normal Stage IV kit.

I just got it yesterday. No runs in Race mode yet, but I plan on giving it a try the next track day on 100 octane. The program supposedly does not add any more boost, just has a far more aggressive timing curve, which is why the octane is necessary to prevent detonation

I didn't see higher peak boost in Race Mode (still tops out at 17PSI for me), but it def holds the boost deeper into the rev range.

So how does that translate into driveability and acceleration figures?

Todd from Evo MS posted some numbers. I have not attempted to confirm them. I can tell you that it takes the car from crazy fast to slightly-crazier fast.....

Seriously, you can really feel the diff.

Drivability wise, I din't notice any real changes when you're not hard on the throttle.

Stock:
60-100 km/h 1,7 sek.
50-150 km/h 6,2 sek.

EVT-690R and European Shell V-Power (100 RON) gasoline:
60-100 km/h 1,5 sek.
50-150 km/h 5,0 sek.

Go for it! On top of everything you'll get appropriate sounds.
