GIAC chip different HP/TQ numbers ?

Anybody knows why there is a HP/TQ difference between the different tuners that work with the GIAC chip.

Is the basic reprogramming not the same for all tuners, having the headers, exhaust etc as the variable ?

I do not think the program is any different from Vendor to Vendor if they are using GIAC. The difference would be in their headers/exhaust/intake which might make a difference. If those items are stock there should be no difference.

From what I gather there are 6 different GIAC program variations:

91 octane stock redline
91 octane 7k redline
93 octane stock redline
93 octane 7k redline
100 octane stock redline
100 octane 7k redline

that may lead to variations in the dyno figures even when using identical stages of exhaust, IC, Headers

Thanks guys, because I got a (conservative) HP/TQ figure from Champion +70 for both, and that is with headers, Tubi , IC's and ECU.

While if I look at Evoms Stage 4 (stock redline) they have +110/+120, I know the TQ is in boost mode, but the HP is 40hp difference with basically the same mods.

Good thing is that my dealer says that I won't have warranty issues with the Champion setup (hope I can get it in writing )

well one of the biggest differences is the fact that each tuner is using their own dyno and we all know how much different dyno's will vary. That's probably your biggest difference all else being the same ie mufflers, headers, intake etc. For example, Champion is in Pompano Beach Florida, it's very hot and very humid there. Neither of which translate well to dynosheets. EVO is in Arizona which even though it's hot, that can be controlled with good cooling. It's also very dry which is good for Dynosheets.

Thanks for the explanation Scott, I did not know the humidity could play that big a role.

But my knowledge about influential factors for dyno's is 0
