This is closer to the truth then you might think. Does anyone believe for a second that the dealership did not have this information prior to selling this car? If so, I have a bridge to sell you.

 

This is very strange since the guy trading it in would have mentioned these upgrades to try and get more money for his car....

Truth of the matter is the dealer really did not make it such a big issue from their end....they had just found out the week before and were going to eventually tell me but really had a by the way attitude...the tech who inspected the car and is a friend/patient of mine told me he found it in glove compartment, gave it to sales manager and said let's give this to Dr B and he will be very happy. They definitely did not know about prior to my delivery and quite honestly if they did would not have made it an issue. I know which wholesaler they bought the car from and he had no idea car was chipped/exhaust done....Do you really think they look back on old owners history of mods if not previously mentioned to them after car turned over hands from owner/wholesaler/dealer?..No way, only us **** 6speedmod freaks do ...
To answers everyones questions, I had NO IDEA the car was engine chipped as i never had really driven a 997 turbo prior nor opened up the car yet..i just thought, holy **** this new generation tt is one fast car!!! As far as exhaust, i knew from day one something was up with the exhaust (louder, throatier than my 996 turbo)- but again thought the 997 exhaust was improved upon! I guess that is why when i showed the car to Red Devil i told him i would not need to change exhuast b/c this 997 tt had great sound versus 996 turbo!
Periokid, the AWE exhaust with 200 cell cats sounds unbelievable..not to knock any other exhaust manuf's but this music to my ears is right in the midline of not too loud and not to quiet.. when accellerating it is noticeable but not deafening..My hat is off to AWE!
MY 600 HP BEAST will be complete next tuesday when my wing is installed..will post pix..

My story behind this car will always be the top one on the list and probably be the first thing mentioned when someone asking me about the car....
about time i make some money on my porsches instead of losing.....how sweet it is.......

 

I don't think he will get more money for the trade in if he mentioned all those modification, the dealer will only try to pay him less money if they knew about the modification, but in a private party sale, the seller usually get more money for a modified 997tt !

 

Great story! It sure is nice when things turn up millhouse every so often.

I can't wait to get behind a stock 997 tt to hear the stock exhaust and difference in power...then i will probably see what i did not know....c'mon Darren make the move so i can compare already!
