Ipod Intergration

Has anyone installed/used the Dice Electronics Ipod unit yet? It looked a lil better for useability by the pictures then the Dension but that may or not be the case. The most important feature to me is using the Nav unit exclusively to pick playlists, artists etc from the ipod.

Any thoughts?

I'd like to hear about this too. We've only done the Dension's thus far and I don't know anything about the DICE unit so some comparos would be nice!

Have you actually tried using a car with the Dension unit? It's pretty easy to use.

I have been selling and installing the Navtv OPIP . It works great and they have an optional AUX input adaptor that can be added so you can add an external XM or Sirius . They also have available the Sirius Add on for the factory unit that will come up on the PCM.If you want you can choose to add audio video input adaptor that can be used in conjunction w/ Alpine Vehicle Hub Pro or Kenwood Car Portal.Any questions please PM me.

Yes i would like to learn more about this as well. I plan to get a 997TT in the next 6 months and currently i just use a Pioneer Avic Z2 with ipod integration and internal HD.. I kind of wanted to keep the factory nav in the 997 though

The Dension box will handle SAT radio just fine. You can use a Cayenne kit or other XM/Sirius box, routed through the Dension.

Dension's newest update is extremely user friendly. After the first load-up, it really takes care of it-self. You can scroll playlists, artists, albums etc... everything you can do with the ipod controls themselves, you can do with the Porsche head-unit. I would suspect any confusion with that box comes prior to their 3rd (most recent i believe) update. Would be interested in hearing what others find with the Dice unit as well though.

how much are the different options here for comparison? i have an 08 cayenne with nav that i need to get an ipod into.

i have heard rumors that porsche is releasing a $200 kit that will allow you to hook the ipod up to the factory MOST radios. any truth to that?

The Porsche 'solution' is crap, and is not a direct most bus delivery system. You cannot control the ipod from the head unit.

Dension's solution (which we distribute), allows direct most bus connection, and all controls from the head unit. On a PCM based Porsche, all your info will display on screen.

And DD....email me before Friday for a steal of a deal, this week only.

Here's the Dension Ice-Link unit installed on Stephen's 997tt, a picture of one of many navigation features.... and what he just happened to have cranked up when he rolled into the office this morning:
