That sounds all very nice, but do they mean MY09 or MY10 ?

It's a sad day...

brnsrgn Sep 20, 2007 06:21 PM

I think 09, I disagree about sad. For turbo's, the ability to keep boost up while shifting, will make DSG the bomb. May be even faster than slushboxes, which I have no interest in.

IslandMD615 Sep 20, 2007 06:32 PM

agreed, dsg is gonna be great for the track.

Mike2727 Sep 21, 2007 08:28 AM

I hope we can get some confirmation on this because my first choice was GSG/PDK, but since there was no definite info I ordered a stick

I still prefer the DSG/PDK, because I think it is the best of both worlds

When is MY09 going to be delivered in the States (09/2008 ?)

Based on what they are saying in this article, it would be MY10, with a Geneva 09 introduction

FINALLY!!!
But I guess this is so late in the 997 lifecycle that I may as well wait for a 998TT!!!

Mike2727 Sep 21, 2007 12:43 PM

I hope it wil be MY09, only one year away, 2 years will be too long, and I do not think Porsche should wait that long, with something they were supposed to have at the launch of the 997TT

brnsrgn Sep 21, 2007 12:52 PM

the 998TT will lag way behind the 998 intro, just as past turbos' have. It is always interesting that the latest and greatest TTS is usually sold alongside the next iteration 911S

msindi Sep 21, 2007 03:29 PM

Agreed brnsgrn
However, with the 997 series, Porsche actually came up with different models rather quick! e.g. 997TT cab came less than a year after the coupe (C4S also came very shortly after the C2 and C2S)

Mike2727 Sep 21, 2007 03:32 PM

I really do not care how they call it (998/999/1000/1001) as long as DSG/PDK will be in MY09 and not MY10 :D :D

turbonator Sep 25, 2007 08:21 PM

Porsche, Hurry up already! FWIW, my dealer says MY09 but other rumors haven't panned out thus far.

Mike2727 Sep 26, 2007 08:51 AM

turbonator, does your dealer know when the MY 09 specs and options will be confirmed to them ?

Mike

Mike2727 Oct 4, 2007 02:28 PM

Lets hope it will be MY09, which is a little less then one year away

If you hear or read anything, please post, I am searching almost everyday to find any news about it

Mike
