I've been to some jacked up places, Eastern Europe, Bangledesh, Mexico and Middle East, including where I am writing from, middle of Baghdad. One of the most "Hell on Earth" places in my experience, is Africa by far. Anything you see in the media is just scratching the surface of the issues.

Ritesh, I lived in TX too, and miss it in all honesty, if you're a car guy, we may have met...I was one of the original NSX guys there.

Anyway, I just didn't see how the comment was ignorant. Smart A$$ maybe, but definitely not racist.

What I don't think you understand, is that people (like myself) who appreciate the lineage of fine German built cars, will be concerned that there will be a drop in quality in cars being built elsewhere. German cars, for the most part, have a history of being extremely very well engineered and built. I could also understand that if you were Indian, you could be somewhat sensitive to this seemingly anti Indian opinion (which it isn't).

However...I am American, and the last thing I would want is Porsche building cars in America, it would take away from the quality, at least in my mind, the recent Chrysler/MB debacle is a good example. Would I be ignorant for that?

Call it racist or whatever, but if I want curry or the Taj Mahal, I'll go to India, if I want a Porsche, I'm going to Germany.

Firstly some of you have no clue what the F you guys are talking about, firstly german made cars and quality dont go together, I have seen/faced plenty of problems with german made cars, thats why everywhere around the world, they are called money pits, andreas admit it, mercedes, porsche, VW, BMW all are plagued by more issues than US troops have in iraq, btw its not EYE-RAQ but e-raq, for love of god!!

Anyhow as for your commend about quality going down, i hardly doubt that, like someone pointed out, the MB plant in india is probably one of the finest anywhere, i guess they couldnt have awarded it the best in the world and dropped an axe on their own feet?? it might as well have been, but it would never be recognized as one..

Anyhow i have lived 1/3 of my life in this god forsaken country that you call home and i call "hell on earth", yes i am talking about US, i am from india, and I cant imagine a place better to live in, it has its share of issues, but not like the US, US is probably the most boring places on earth, with no sense of life, its like ppl are living here just for the sake of it, anyhow i prefer to live in india with my privileged a$$ and not lift a finger than be in this so called organized society where i have do everything on my own, wtf!! anyhow, I think even ritesh who doesnt even know the meaning of being indian has nicely commented and called it hell on earth, may be for him, cuz he might be "confused" (I am sure he will understand the context), but for me its only the place i would want to be and I have seen a lot around the world.

to come back to topic, i think it would be great for us indians, I cant wait to get back home and have those cheaper 911 to roll in..

in my opinion it would be better, if the world would be rolling in them too, cuz god knows how freakishly overpriced the german cars really are..and they need a hand or 2 to make them what they are really worth..

This also means we'll be seeing OEM parts made in India.

I have nothing negative to say about India, as I have not visited there nor am I Indian, but I do find your negative comments about the US offensive. I find it ignorant and hypocritical to stereotype a country of 300 million people with more diversity than almost any other corner of the world by saying the people here live here with no sense of life? You cannot realistically say something so stupid and actually mean it, can you? I think you are forgetting that India has some 350+ million people living beneath the poverty line (more than the population of the USA) with only a 50% literacy rate. You are going to tell me people in India barely surviving below the poverty line have a fantastic sense of life? I think every country has it's problems, and the USA nor India are immune to them. If you love your country, my hats off to you, but do not speak positively of your country only as a comparison to the things you dislike about another - especially when the other is one I'm sure has provided you with opportunities and advantages that have generally helped you in whatever future endeavors you might have.

Given how "godforsaken" our country is, what are you doing here? Did you goto school here? Do you hold employment here? Is your family here? I'm sure we are all curious to know what benefits you have reaped from some an abysmal country such as our own, if any?

I think this subject is getting out of hand. I know we are all proud of who we are and of our country. But we can not get into a pissing match here about which country is better. Lets just accept the fact that Porsche will be building cars in India. Again its only for the Indian market. Its all business.

Marcus. I could not agree more. I too am Indian. I was raised in Hong Kong, left when I was 18 and have been in the U.S for 20 years. I spent three months out of the year in India for the first 18 years of my life. I have traveled extensively and I love all three places that I spent time in. They are all so different and that is what makes it enjoyable. This forum is great because of all the diversity. I think that we are forgetting that at the end of the day, we all share the same passion for Porsche and that is what unites us (in this forum). So let us all get back on topic!!

"US is probably the most boring places on earth?" TELL ALL YOUR INDIAN FRIENDS TO GET THE F@&K OUT OF THE USA!!!!!!!!! Stop moving to NJ. If the US is soooo bad, why do you keep coming here. You don't see Americans moving to third world country's.

Can we be provided the source of that 'Made-In-India Porsche' news? I think this could be a joke. I am Chinese and I know BMW and MB have been building cars in China, but I can't imagine that Porsche will do that in India or China. Quality aside, 'Made in Germany' still carries a lot of weight amongst customers worldwide, and in terms of brand name, Porsche is not at the same level as BMW and MB.
