IPD Intake Plenum Installed - Dyno Results!
I will be dynoing tomorrow (monday). Got behind with our new building. Sorry about that. The lead in creates excitement
I dont have another 997TT laying around LOL. But if anyone wants to bring their stock car here, will gladly assist them. The bottomline that even with a exhaust and flash, you should still get some before and after results. The product is designed to improve overall driveability. Dyno numbers cannot only show the performance. If I had a stock 997TT, I would do the exhaust and reflash. Best Bang for the buck. It says your 57, why do you have homework!!!
Just finished the dyno. I did 3 runs. 1 with sport off and 2 with sport on. Sport always makes the torque higher because of the instant boost, but horsepower is higher without sport. The dyno sheet compares my last run with my JIC Exhaust, Softronic ECU Flash, and Agency Power Headers compared to the addition of the IPD Intake Plenum.
I will let Greg from RSS jump in here as I am no tuning or dyno pro, but it looks like the turbos hit boost later. Same octane, room temperature at about 90F degrees, but alittle more humid... yes folks it is POORING here in AZ. You can see the HUGE increases in mid range RPM horsepower and torque. This is evident when driving the car also. On the road it does not feel like it comes on later, but maybe that is some weird dyno thing going on...
You can see by the camera phone pic that with the correction factory, the screen read 527awhp and 534ft/lbs of torque.
No matter how you look at it, the IPD did its job to a degree! We have these INSTOCK.

If the solid blue line is the torque curve with plenum, then you are spooling up 500 rpm or so later, have a lower peak torque, but more importantly have much less area under the total curve. That is a horrible result.
well I agree with you but at the same time, I think another dyno is inorder cause that does not make sense. I shoot straight and said I would post what I got. I am not going to fluff crap up. You can see that the plenum made power in the midrange and that is what they claim. I also said that not sure why the huge difference. Hopefully we can run it again and figure it out. I dont know if the silicone hose I put on affects it, or any of the above variables.
now would be a good time for others like RSS, AWE, or those that use Plenums to chime in.

Some mods require the ECU to adapt prior to reaching equilibrium but losing 500+rpm of spool would not be something that adaptation is going to recover. Have you tried higher octane fuel - 96, 98, 100?
"No matter how you look at it, the IPD did its job to a degree! We have these INSTOCK." LOL to a degree.

"Some mods require the ECU to adapt prior to reaching equilibrium" How long does the ECU take to "adapt"? Is the ECU a smart learn on the fly technology? I am not being facetious here, i just want some proof that this is a learning ECU app......

Mbailey I plan on running the car again. About to start our move to the new shop, so will do it after next week. Give the car a good time to adjust and make sure all my variables and dyno settings are proper.
