Bringing the car to work tomorrow for a redyno. Thanks TTsurgeon.

Uhh...look at your post count vs mine. Then don't forget to look at your PMs from IB warning you....not me....about being removed from this forum.

As I've stated before, prove any part of my post untrue and I'll remove it.

I have never been warned to be removed. Thank you. In fact you will notice our larger right side banner, our top leaderboard banner, and we are the sponsor of the 996TT forum. For anything else, I will refer people to my response here https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/2014121-post5.html

Oh, the drama, the DRAMA

The dyno result posted tempts me to remove the plenum. I'll wait for confirmation first, however.

Looking forward to your re-dyno...
I would totally agree with your thread...if he didn't make discrediting statements like these:

Driving the car around the streets you can immediately notice some of the turbo lag reduced because of the improved air flow efficiency.
There have been so many of these unfounded marketing claims coming from Vivid over the past few months that I now only read the really funny ones....

Dyno

I am no expert but it almost looks like the before dyno was run in fourth gear and the after dyno was run in third gear.

I am interested to see that RSS has stayed away from this thread. I commend Dan as well for baring the facts for everyone to see. We can learn as much from good results as from bad, and too many people are afraid to reveal bad results.

I had the plenum installed last week. So far what I have noticed is that turbos seem to spool up much faster then before. Especially 2nd and 3rd gear if that makes sense. I am not an expert, I dont have a dyno I just think the car accelerates a bitter more aggressively. Then again it might all be in my head.(Wishful thinking =$1000.00).

I drove a car with one installed, my butt dyno noticed absolutely nothing. Maybe my butt isn't sensitive enough?

It is amazing 75F degrees here as we just had a storm. Going to load the car on the dyno this morning.

I only dyno in 3rd gear actually. For those that have added important input, thank you.

just finished another dyno here with the plenum. will be putting the stock plenum in to get a good solid back to back comparison. it is definitely humid today. we also replaced the the factory black corregated silicone piece that connects to the YPipe. should have this done after lunch.

Dan,

As most people are aware, and of course I have written on this in other forums, that the PLENUM is not a significant source of additional horsepower gain on turbocharged cars without significant (systemic) alterations. With a pressurized system like turbocharging, elbows and etc. (so long as the internal diameter isn't materially different) have little effect on flow. The fact that you continue to use your car as a test mule is an incredible testament to your reputation and your business.

Adding a really big intake plenum to a turbocharged car (solo) is, in a different kind of way, like adding (or taking away) "zero exhaust system" on a naturally aspirated car where the system actually needs a little bit of backpressure to work effectively. The turbocharged intake system will perform with better VELOCITY of air and when someone ONLY buy a larger plenum, you get a pressure difference just noticeable enough to probably increase lag. When you throw a BIG set of turbos on a car, with big IC's and then add a plenum, you have a matched system on the intake and the pressurization side of the motor to where (so long as there's effectively zero exhaust system on the car) you should get a meaningful pickup in horsepower and a decent marginal kick from the PLENUM.

Vivid does a nice job. Dan ~ I can't wait for you to do the modded turbos on your new beast.

Best Regards,

SY
