I will have a full report on the before/after results very soon! Stay tuned. This is clearly one of the MOST exciting times for 997 owners new and old-

**Considering the reliability of the VF system and the incredible response and accessibility of the team.

Best,
Pink

I would recommend purchasing the stage one and evaluate if that is enough power for you. If not, I will be sure to assist you when you decide to invest in stage two?
Best,

417 rwhp? Does not seem like any increase at all.

Glad to have the updates. I am wondering why the E46 M3 stage 2+ superchargers seem to produce so much more power than the 997/996's supercharged.

the M3 engine is a high revving true motorsport production engine and has 6 independent throttle bodies which gives it a much higher VE (volumetric efficiency) than most other production tuned engines.

The Porsche equivalent would be the GT3.

Yes, thanks for the common knowledge, but the Porsche motors have higher displacement. The M3 having an iron block makes for a fairly stout motor but at the same boost levels I would figure the carrera S would be able to make more power.

What is holding the 996/997 Carrera and S from making power with forced induction like the E46 m3? I believe the rods are forged in the 997. Perhaps the higher revs pair well with a centrifugal.

Nik,

Man, I just wanted to say that I'm impressed. I'm impressed with how you handle yourself on here. See, you have two different things going on.

1- The car guys. Your customers on here. We ask all these crazy questions. "Will it outrun this? Will it be faster than that? Will it get me chicks?" You're telling us right here that you don't have it finished? So how could you have it out running against TTs and blown M3s and other blower manufacturers? Of course you haven't. BUT, the car guys here are here for recreation and we can say and ask whatever we want, no matter how many beers are in us or how much the question doesn't make sense.

2- The other thing here is, you (and guys like Dan) are on here because it's your job. You probably love it, but it's your job. So, there's a different level of awareness. You walk that very well.

I'm impressed with you, the company, and my blower with 30k on it, 20+ track days, an infinite amount of trips to redline, and quite a few to 170mph+.

So... can I get a stage 2 first?

Jared

In case it was not clear, this build up is a 997 not 997S.

Our stg1 997S supercharged cars typically put down 425whp at 5.5psi which is 25whp more than our supercharged M3 on the same amount of boost with simial air/water aftercooling. This is all on 91 octane. (93 octane yields even greater numbers). We have been working on the 997S stg2 and that info will appear in a separate thread coming soon. Interestingly both cars are the same color.

Adding 5 more throttle bodies would certainly help if you want to compare the 911 motors to the M3-S54.

However our conservative approach is what stops us from going go for big power (100% increases). VF chooses a more conservative approach (no more than 40-50% power increases) as we sell hundreds of kits. Hence we need to remain reliable and keep our track record in tact!

If you are looking for big power, we feel for viability and reliability, one should move up to the factory turbo model. In any case, no matter how much power one has, there is always the desire for more!

Nik,

One thing that I think would be a killer add on/option for the Stage 2 (maybe even a Stage 3 denomination) would be a GIAC Flashloader, like I had on my S4. With this, you could also make a 100 octane program for track days. We could choose fuel economy mode (I get 28 on the interstate in mine, believe it or not) as well as the typical mode you have now. They even throw in a valet mode.

Shouldn't be much since you're working with them already. Thoughts?

Jared
