I hate to put pricing in threads, because it always seems to change...

If you don't mind me asking, what other expenses are associated with the change of the wheel? It must be done by a Porsche dealer, I assume...

Can the manual version bolt directly on a 997.1 and use the sport airbag? Please let me know as soon as you can thanks!

Assuming you have a 997.2 then professional installation is recommended. If it is a 997.1 the install is a little more complicated.

We actually stopped selling the retrofit kit on our website because of a few install complications...

We can retrofit the manual GTS wheel to a 997.1. You will need the wheel, an airbag and also a steering column switch unit. That also must be installed by your local Porsche dealership.

Here is the GTS wheel: http://www.suncoastparts.com/product//480GTSL.html

Airbag:

The steering column switch you will need to contact us for, they typically run around $225-$250.

Please pm me the price on a 997.1 steering wheel with paddles! I didn't know they were compatible with tiptronic.

What sort of complications? I performed this retrofit on my '08 Cayman S manual without issue. '10 wheel, airbag, and switch. Curious as to what went wrong elsewhere. Switch programming issue?

It was mostly with the paddle steering wheel on a tiptronic car. The Turbos were not working and recently someone with a Cayman had an issue. Since we could not pinpoint which cars it would and would not work on we were not 100% confident with the retrofit.

On manual cars we have not had any issues, so I suppose we can still offer the upgrade. However, since the airbag is non returnable and if anything were to happen you have a very expensive leather paperweight.

If anything changes or we start listing the retrofit kits again I will certainly come back and update the thread.

Ryan, any further news on this. I'm currently looking for a 997 turbo and was not considering an auto/tip but would if I could fit the PDK wheel.

Its either going to be a manual or a PDK wheel mated to the tip gearbox. Let me know if there is any way I can check out the car to know if this is an option that will work.

I believe Tech Art makes a paddle to put on the standard PDK wheel. I have no previous experience with it, but I have seen a few posts on here about it.

Hi Ryan, I have 997.1 2008 tiptro with a multifunction steering wheel. I hate the buttons on the wheel and would love to change to the paddle wheel ( without the buttons ) could this work or would I have error messages.
