Just wanted to note I raced a E55 late last night coming home from Santa Monica and kicked it's *** all over... Was rolling 35 mph then took off to around 100+ with the AMG, (no one around) I pulled hard on him and left him in the dust, felt great to out run the AMG. I know these 2 cars are close in numbers but the P-car just kept on a-pullin. I want a AMG63 on the next one think it may be closer though...any thoughts on vs. AMG63 matchup

 

I assume it's the W210 E55, the naturally aspirated 5.4L, cuz the W211, you wouldn't have pulled it as you described unless you have some serious mods. The 63 should beat the S...you need a turbo to play with these bad boys my man

 

I have a stock W211 blown E55, and I guarantee you a C4S can't keep up with it. I've raced my own C2S agaianst my Merc, and up to about 115 MPH the Merc pulls the Porsche...by a lot.

 

sorry to tell you.. theres no chance a C4S against E55 with 476 HP, unless it is the old 354 HP. i had a CS its so strong. but cant keep up with 99TT,M5,E63.....

 

Not a chance you even kept up with W211 E55... unless your blown and then some yourself

469 hp actually 516 lbs./tq....

Edit: oh yea and the E55 W211 is faster then the E63 AMG... so no chance there either....

 

Thx. for responses, all I know is that this E55 was in the new body style, prob. a 2005 or 2006 E55 would be my guess I dont know what year the horsepwr changed in the E-Class model of mercedes. but I can tell you that even though my car has 355 it's a lot lighter, he also had 1 passenger & I was alone just to state the record...but I did yank on his ride... I'm so ready for my TT cab just a year away, don't know what color to pick, I like that dark grey color but I always end up with black. I really diggin the white this year, but I like dark colors, so I can fly under the radar...

 

Yeah I know what you mean, I raced a 05 996 turbo S on P.C.H. at Zuma beach bout year ago from a stand still. Every thing was the same till about 35 mph then turbo's on his car just kicked in... and away screaming he went, I will def. buy my TT cab next year whe my lease is up. Got to be king of da hill.

 

Well, anything is possible on the street but I owned an '04 E55 (which was modded) and under most circumstances there is no way a C4S is beating the benz in a straight line. Your chances improve if going from a roll where it can't utilize all that torque but from a dig you're history. Although, because of all that torque it can be a bit tricky to launch that car without sitting there spinning the tires. I was able to engage my ESP by hitting the gas doing 80mph

I sold my E55 for my 997S and there is no way it was faster than the E - and the C2S is even lighter than the C4.

I'm not saying it didn't happen but if I were you I wouldn't get all cocky and go out hunting for AMG cars to drag race

 

He wasn't racing you or he was toying with you - the new bod style, you just wouldn't win - i take it your 355hp means your stock... you still just wouldn't win and not by the amount you state - he wasn't racing you, the w211 (i.e. 2003-2006) has 469hp and 516 lbs/tq so its added weight to your car doesn't make any difference, its a low 12 sec car and from a roll has so much torque you wouldn't stand a chance...he could have 3 passengers a full tank and groceries and you still wouldn't take him... sorry i don't buy this, as someone said, you need a TT to hang with the big boys

Could be a poser E55... I have seen many E500 with the E55 badge. But, yea no chance the C4S can keep up with an E55 in a highway race.

Hey man. A kill is a kill. While I believe you in this situation, you have to take into account that he wasn't pushing his car or maybe he was but had to slow down in the turns (happens to me all the time).

In controlled situations, expect to be pulled on. Now if you got a EVO/RUF supercharger, it may be a different story....

Wilshire coming into bev.hills (at golf course) my car is dropped and stock, look I have beaten up on lots of higher h.p. cars, including, M5 new, 650I, DB9, M3 last model, motorcycle on the 10 freeway, WRX, supra, older muscle car, 996 turbo s cab, everyone always wants to race me, all the time. I usally do if not to much traffic around, what the hell I've only lost to the 996 turbo s...so far...Some cars that I want to go up against soon, AMG 63, Corvette C6, F430, Lambo g., I know your all thinking I need a turbo by this point but....I will let it all out if the chance arises, fo sho... I dont care what car you have I will rise to occasion, as long as the coast-is-clear...I would put an S.C. on, prob. evo would be my choice, but I lease so Warranty issues at hand, soo I will just upgrade to TT CAB next year...
