Supercharger Owners... RUF???
I'd happily bet against you on that.
I guess we'll find out in a couple weeks. I'm sure I will bump into a couple on the way to Daytona. Considering I have no problem at least staying near my buddy's 600 hp plus protomotive TT, I'm not sweating staying with or beating a stock 7TT.
There is not a stock TT porsche that will keep up with a properly setup 996 or 997 C2 with a supercharger. Including my little old 3.4 engine. It takes some substantial mods to make the TT a better performer.
How is that you guys are all comparing a used 997 c2s can get one for $60-70k and add a $12000 supercharger with install and you are saying to just buy the 997 tt for a little more. Last i looked 997 tt are still selling for 120K + .
So buying a used Carrera S OR C4S with the intent to modify it you have a much better value then buying a used 997tt.
And the best part is you get to do the mods you want .

Last time I was at the glen, a guy in an sc'd 997S was in my run group(red), he was fast, but not as fast as my bone stock TT. I swallowed him whole on the back straight in several run sessions and his car was running perfectly. Anecdotal to be sure, but before you spend 25+k on a ruf 997 sc job, consider just getting a TT, any TT.

I don't understand why those people can't be like Dinan, and get their superchargers certified with a plaque saying that it is emissions legal. Main reason why I'm not installing one is because I don't want to uninstall it when I get my smog.
I have no idea. I know it's not approved in CA.
Can anyone elaborate on the sound in the cockpit with the EVO supercharger. Is it something you can actually hear under normal driving conditions? I would like to hear anything you can tell me about good sounds at certain RPM's and certain driving style vs. bad sounds all the way around. Thanks!
You can barely hear it. Sounds like a very faint whine.
Now the TPC on the other hand, there is no mistaking you have a blower on the car. It's "wake the neighbors" loud when you step on it.

Illinois will not even look at the engine. All they will do is test the gas cap and hook up to you OBD 2 port. If all sensors show active and there are no alerts, you will pass and be on your way.
Illinois car registration is a joke. You can register your car at Wrigley feild if you want and they will not verify. My car, which has many of the OBD controls turned off, is registered in an Illinois county that does not have emission testing. All I do is go to the Secretary of State's office and pick up my registration every year since it cannot be delivered my mail to a place that does not exist.

Does it really matter if it's a 6TT or a 7TT? But as long as you mention it, I'm confident an SC could handle a stock 7TT.
