I will have to disagree with you on that with the new State run SMOG stations you're not going to get it through the visual. If you don't believe me check with one of the installers like Alex at Sharkwerks....I wont post his story but I know he couldn't bypass the state smog check with his personal car.

This is the only reason I haven't had Alex install one on my car already

Ahh... come on. You know the real reason is because you don't want to make your car faster than mine and make me look bad

Thanks for sharing that fact. So if we want an EVO Supercharger, one would have to uninstall it for smog. Is this the same case for the RUF?

Doesn't the RUF supercharger look OEM? I bet it will be even more difficult to remove it for smog, unless it passes somehow.

You should talk to Sharky about it. From what I heard they're not certified smog friendly. You may or may not pass. Most likely no.

It's not an issue of passing the SMOG it will do that on the emission side, IMHO this should be the only thing that matters. But you can be sent to a CA State SMOG certification, had this happened with my 99 M3, and you have to pass visual and they know exactly what isn't and is factory. It's just one of the many advantages of living in CA

Dinan paid a lot of money to get the cars certified by CA SMOG and that is why they can install on BMW's. The price they charge reflects this certification more in line with what RUF charges for there SC.

Last time I spoke to the guys at RUF, they mentioned that the car should pass the visual, but couldn't guarantee whether it would pass emissions. And you are correct, they are not CARB certified like Dinan is.

I agree that for the price, it should be certified in all 50 states.

It looks very cool though
