Any pics or advice ? I'm dying to get my two boys in the back

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
He has a Targa he might have put it through the back

I've been using a Britax Boulevard (front facing) in my 2009 997.2 Cab. I removed the rear seat and the seat cushions, added a towel padding below the seat. The biggest problem is the angle of the back does not sit flush with the outline of the seat well. Hence, the towel. Even with the back seat removed, my 3.5 year old daughter finds it tight unless I pull the passenger seat way to the front.

I'm looking at getting a booster that does not have a huge base. I most likely might end up going with the Junior Plus. All the others seem one off with the fit. Does anyone know if the Junior Plus fits well with the seats removed?

I bought two boosters that were recommended here (on 6 speed, or was it R-list). They have a narrow base and armrests. The armrests were causing problems, making it difficult for my boys to connect their seat belts. So, I cut off the armrests with a jigsaw with a long blade. I only cut the plastic base, not the cloth cover, so they look like they're in tact, but the armrests just flop and don't cause the access issue to the receptacle. They are really perfect, IMHO. I can take photos later tonight if that would help

i still use recaro vivo, just remove seat pad - it is on velcro and comes off easy enough. recaro vivo also can be taken apart and used as booster. i use it since my son was 1.5 years old, now he is 5 and fits fine in rear seat with no booster but still likes to have one to sit higher to see windows better.

I bought this Recaro ProSport for my 23 month old son. HE STILL MUST BE IN A FIVE POINT HARNESS, so the booster's were out of the question. I did NOT remove the back rest NOR the pad seat below. I used the anchor clamp in the rear dash and tucked a couple of BLACK TOWELS (matches the black interior of the car and the seat) and this thing is SNUG. He sits comfortably and loves riding in daddy's car. My wife (she's 5'5'') fits just fine in the front seat as well. I will snap a pick and show everyone. I cannot be happier and was surprised no one really did any write-ups as of late on these.....

pics please

I think I've found a car seat (in Canada) that will work for me. I've tried to install the demo at the store and I think I need to remove the rear seat backing/shelf to get it snug in there. It is a booster with 5-point harness. My question to everyone is how tight were you able to secure the seat with the seatbelt method of installing the seat ? I'm just not confident, given the position/angle of the buckle sticking forward.

Has anyone modified this at all ? The buckle is a good 4-6 inches away from the back of the bucket seat. I've heard some ppl loosen the bolt and point the buckle more vertical.

I would love to see a photo if anyone can take one of their set up, specifically the connecting points (rear deck tether + buckle)

Anyone have luck installing anything in a cabriolet?

I took the seats out and my britax marathon was not even close. The back wouldn't rest on the firewall.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I use a britax roundabout with the base removed and bottom cushion removed. Fits snug with ample leg room.

In a cab? Did you keep any of the seats in?

Yes. See my avatar. I use the original Britax Roundabout. They have a new 50 and 55 that are similar. I took the base of the Britax seat to give it a rounded bottom. There is a metal bar holding it in place that is easy to remove and re-install. I took off both the backseat bottom and back cushions in the cabriolet to see what worked best. I left the bottom Porsche cushion off so the Britax would fit lower and tighter in the car. I did place a folded up towel where the Porsche bottom cushion used to be in order to make a slightly snugger fit with the seatbelt tightened. I left the Porsche back cushion in place b/c I felt the seatbelt kept the baby seat snugger than with it out. Hope this helps.

It helps somewhat.

I took apart my britax last night but I also too the back seat out before I tried the fitment. I will put the seat back's in the car again and try that out.

How is the lean angle? Is it proper (according to the gauge on the seat)

Thanks again for your response, I feel a little more encouraged.

If there is any way you show me how the base is sitting on the towel that would be appreciated as well. I'm going to look at the suncoast seat tonight but this would be easiest solution because I have 2 spare britax.

PM me your email and I'll send some pics. The roundabout is much smaller than the Marathon so that might be a factor. My son is 2 so He's not ready for a booster but still fits well in the Roundabout. It does sit a smidge erect but its not bad.

I can't pm you because I don't have 15 posts.

You can email me pics at cory@morelco.com

I will try to find the roundabout here but what model is yours? 55?

Also, when you say a smige forward... is you little man comfortable? Is the wife o.k. with the lean angle?

TY
