I purchased the Porsche Plus booster seat with the removable back, to just make it a booster and it does not fit in the back seat of my 2007 cabriolet with the BOSE sound package, just a bit too wide toward the front of the seat, the back fit perfectly, but the front was just a half inch too wide and it didn't go all the way down to the seat, with or without the seat bottom in the car.

Then I went to Walmart and they had a "Harmony" YOUTH BOOSTER SEAT which was the cheapest booster seat there, it was 14.31 with tax and they fit PERFECTLY. It's just the seat bottom, no back, which was exactly what I needed.

Now, I plan to place the Porsche Junior booster seat for sale on here if anyone is interested, but if you have a cabriolet with the BOSE package, don't bother it does not fit!

Turns out I have not posted enough to qualify for a merchandise post, so if anyone on here wants one, I have one for 100.00 plus any actual shipping costs.

I have a 07 cab w/ BOSE and the Porsche plus fits my car perfectly. The irony of course is that I broke down and purchased the Porsche seat after trying several recommended in these threads.

Most of the recent talk here seems to be regarding fitment in cabriolets. Anyone know of an issues fitting the Britax Roundabout forward facing in the back of a coupe?
i use a britax roundabout in a C4S coupe. works great.

Possibly there is a difference between what your calling the "Porsche Plus" and my seat which is labeled "Porsche Plus"?

I do have the belt that plugs in the front.

But my "Porsche Plus" seat hits my speakers and the "hump" before it even touches the seat bottom and the kids were sitting at an angle that they didn't like.

I've pasted a few pictures of this seat, is it the same?

That is not the same Porsche Plus seat that I have. Mine might be a newer model, but it's this one:

By the way, for those using a backless booster in the back of their 911, you may want to reconsider it: the reason is that the back seat of the 911 has virtually no head restraint- the rear seat is so low that the kids head is above the rear seat back. This is dangerous, and is alleviated by using a booster with a back.

Recars Vivo and Porsche Plus seem to be the best choices. I have the Porsche Plus, and notice that I cannot lift the headrest of the back very high due to the low and sloping roofline. I am going to try to remove the car's rear seat back and see if that will allow me a couple of more inches.

Cattman, it's the size of the kid that matters, not the booster seat type, if the kid's head isn't higher than the seat back, no problem, it's not specific to a non-back seat booster.

I have two boys, both of which fit nicely with just the booster and thier heads don't peak over the top of the seat back.

Recaro ViVo works very well in both 996 and 997.

I use the Recaro Vivo. I thought I read in the manual to not use the base without the rear back? But I see no difference if I bought just a booster with no back from any other manufacture? My plan was to use only the Vivo bottom when the time came.

Harmony seat fits pretty good. Below is a pic of the one I got for my daughter. Still need to remove the seat so I don't mess up the leather.

I kind feel that she fits better without the seat and with the shoulder belt slung low (pic shows low slung mode belt). When using the booster I put the belt in the normal position over the seat drop lever. I feel like the big purpose of the booster is to get the shoulder belt in the right place for the kid and slinging it off the side does this too. But my wife really wants her in a car seat since it's 'the law'.

I believe 996 and 997 back seats are fairly similar.
