On a long highway trip with cruise control set at 73mph in 6th gear for at least 200 miles, I have seen 25mpg. Boring as hell, but great gas mileage.

I see 24-25 mpg normally on the highway with my 2005 C2 (3.6l). AutoCross is around 18-19. In town driving is around 21-22 average. It actually dropped from 26-27 mpg on the highway when I added the Evo airbox, the Auto Authority chip, and the headers. But the highway speeds are in the 65-75 mph range. It drops considerably as you start to average 80 or so.

My 997S with a full plate of bolt-on mods makes 13 to 17 mpg in mixed driving, including lots of short trips and traffic. On longer trips without significant traffic, 18 to 22 mpg. All of this is with no attempt to minimize fuel consumption. It is a daily driver with 26K miles in 2 1/2 years.

My C2 pulled 26-27 driving from Phoenix to San Diego. I have been getting around 19 driving around town and commuting. I only drive 11 miles one way so it is just barely warmed up most of the time. I don't think that helps any.

Exclamation HWY 17 yoyos

Seriously, Hwy 17 is full of skittish drivers and trucks, not the best place to rail.

Here is a link to a video of a radical wreck:

I probably average 18 mpg and that includes a good mix of hwy and city driving. Never seen the magic 25mpg though.

Fuel mileage -

Well, I have a 99 C2 996 with a 6 speed and I have 60K miles on the clock. I don't think I have ever driven less than 75 miles per hr on the freeway ( generally 80+ ). In mixed driving ( flat terrain) over the last 20K miles I get 20.5 miles per gallon. My secret is simple, keep revs to 3K ( except when I want to blow the cob webs out ), accelerate smoothly and anticipate the stopping distance. I have 50 percent freeway the rest is rural / city.

Hmmm...28.2/mpg? wonder if it was the exhaust/ECU upgrade

I just got back from Phoenix and averaged over 25 for the trip going 75-80 (350 miles). It was pulling 27-28 for much of it but I had a few battles going through the mountains and lost a few
