I admired the 911 from when it was first introduced in the mid 60's. Shortly after the newest iteration, the 997, was introduced, I was in a position to comfortably have one. I had it made to order, with the exact colors & options I wanted. I have since had performance upgrades of about 15 percent of the car's cost made. I use it as a daily driver.
In many respects, the 997 is just a modern, up to date version of the high performance sports car I really wanted to have as a youngster. It has spoiled me on ever driving a normal car.

There are cars, then there are Porsche's. I've many type of cars ie- family cars; Honda Accords & Civic's, an Olds Cutlass. Muscle cars; 66' Chevelle SS396, 78' LT1 Corvette. Sportcars; 73' 240Z, 80' RX7, 87 Ferrari 328GTS, 94 Integra GS V-tec, then the Porsche's 75' 914, 78 911SC, 80' 911 & my current ride-06' Carrera 997S.
The numbers speak for themselves, four Porsche's. Porsche strives for perfection & builds a great sportcar. For them there is no substitute, for me I wouldn't have any other way!

From the first drive in 1971, I was in love. My ordered BMW hadn't come in and I went to a Porsche/Audi dealer to look at the Audi's. The salesman said have you driven a Porsche. I said no. He said let's go. At the first entrance to the highway he said give it more gas as we went around the cloverleaf, Quickly. I ordered one upon return and have owned Porsches for 37 years.
