add me to the list of oil leaks...

just dropped my car off at BH porsche. service guy told me that it might not be covered under warranty since i have an aftermarket intake and exhaust
at least i got a good laugh out of the experience...
no more loaner cars either, so i guess when you pay 90K for a car that leaks you have to shell out another $100 a day to get around while its in the shop.
i will let you guys know what happens, hopefully it is something minor.

Oil leaks and Porsches are one in the same. Oil leaks come and go on my 3.2 with 215K miles. I had a small leak that started about 3 months ago that oozed onto my ss headers and exhaust pipes. Of course when you drive the car the wind blows the oil over everthing behind the leak!!! Last time I got my oil changed I saw that the leak was coming from the upper valve cover. A week after the oil change the leak stopped. Why??? who knows!!

on of the techs told me that although he had seen tons of rms leaks on the 996s, he was seeing about 1 every 6 months for the 997's...

Is it rms?
That is bs that the intake and exhaust would cause an oil leak. I smell law suit.

well, the tech just peeked under, right when i brought it in and he said "yup there is a leak".
i asked if he thought it was rms, and he said he hasnt seen many on the 997 so doubted it.
the car has over 25K miles, and is a march 05 build car...
yeah it is bs, obviously they arent related, but why would he say something like that? just say something like sorry you got unlucky with the leak and we will get you a ride home in a minivan, hopefully it will be something small and you wont be out of a p-car long...
but instead make me feel stupid for trying to enjoy my car by modding it...
i doubt when someone brings a ferrari in for an engine related issue, they say it is probably because of the tubi you got on there.
i wonder if i didnt have an exhaust or intake if he would have blamed my aftermarket aerokit for the leak...

All Porsche dealers will get PCNA to pay for anything as long as the warranty is still valid. Even if they can't find the problem they'll conjour one up to cover their labor costs.

Pacific Porsche in Torrance is pretty good from a customer service standpoint. I've always gotten a no-charge loaner except one time when they were out of them. On that occasion I got a ride to my office and pick up when my car was finished.

If and when you go to Pacific ask for either Tim or Nicco. Make an appointment 1st to ensure the loaner.

i asked the guy that dropped me off if they would pick me up when the car is ready and he said no... only drop offs after you leave the car.
he told me that none of the dealerships were doing loaners anymore, maybe he had wrong info.
but it sucks that they wont even pick me up...

yeah cat1pro, i think the service advisor was just trying to cover himself just in case there was any problems...
champion just has much more experience with modified cars and they are confident that nonrelated issues would be covered.
You guys are lucky in florida to have such a great shop.

So was it an oil leak or transmission leak? I recently had a transmission leak that was fixed under warranty too.

SPYDER997s ,
Did you take your car to the dealer w/ yopur suspension and wheels on ?

Raffi, You should be happy you changed to 19" wheels cause i heard 20" wheels may VOID your warranty on your transmission .
