As for mods, none are planned.
I've ran in to too many problems with modding Mustangs and Vettes.

Ah not too far at all. Once the weather gets nicer youll have to come down to a Cars & Coffee...lots of nice cars show up weekly.

As for not modding this car - i am by no means saying it NEEDS anything - but i wouldnt be mad at you if you lowered it and threw a front lip on there

Cheers!

I finally met a car that had TOO MUCH power for me.
Make that too much power to put to the ground.

I don't know if your too old, the Z06 is just an animal and really too much car for the street IMO. I have both and I agree the Porsche is much more user friendly and appointed much nicer. I love the Z06 but I think it is suited to the racetrack better than the street, I think you will like the all around ability of the P car better. You asked about upgrades? The only upgrade I would do is drive it for a year or 2 and upgrade to the TT!

jamie furman -

I've seen your Z06 times, excellent driving.

You obviously know and understand what I am talking about with the Z06.

Since I love AWD I guess if and when I upgrade it will be to a Turbo.
I hope my business keeps growing.

RFFG -

Thanks

pearlcoupeg35 -

I recently gave up coffee, I am too hyper as is, but it sounds fun.
I am more of the go out and drive type of person, but let me know when one is and I'll come up with the wife (hopefully she'll go) and my 12 year old son.
I am the type who can hang out for 1/2-1 hour and then I am back running down the road, but I love cars and the wife and kid might slow me down a little.

The Porsche is definitely a better daily driver, more civilized and comfortable.

I am letting my 69 year old father take it to Atlantic City overnight on Tuesday.

I let him use and keep my C6 Vert at his house permanently, so I will use that Tuesday and Wednesday while he has the Porsche, I miss the sound of those Borlas.

I wonder if he will give the Porsche back on Thursday????

As for a daily driver you can't beat a Porsche. They are such phenominal cars and they get better and better each year. My first Porsche was a 1976 Turbo and I can't tell you how this simple design has improved over the years.Good luck with your car. It looks great!!!!

I did the same thing. Ordered a new Z06 and put 91 miles on it before I sold it. Fast car but not for me. I'm just a Porsche guy.

If you are content with AWD, Turbo, if you want more of a RAW experience and more direct RWD feel, GT3.

Also, you can go to the 996 GT2 for the TT power plus RWD, but its not for everyone, Z06 like x2!

My original question was why didn't you go for a 996TT within the same price range as the Targa, for like an 04? Still could get warranty, interior not as nice but still AWD and nice big power your use to?

All that matters in the end are that you are enjoying yourself, nothing can beat happiness.. Was just wondering

Congrats...if you like it now just wait until summer...there was no better feeling than a warm summer day with top down in my old cab...and empty twisties...pure heaven.

Congrats again.

pearlcoupeg35-

Sounds great, keep me posted.

sftobr -

I have been in a couple of older 911s, they build in a lot more luxury now, but they still retain that Porsche mechanical feel.

Truble10 -

The Z06 was more about bragging rights, knowing I was driving the baddest car out there.
But I also knew that without traction and on public roads it was just more car than I could have fun with.
My 400hp C6 Vette is perfect.
Even in this cold weather that car is a handful.

iLLM3 -

It would definitely be the AWD Turbo if I upgrade.
I did look at a couple of 2002-2003 Turbos, I did not drive them though.
They were Porsche Certified and selling for $70,000-$73000, definite deals.
But, I wanted my 1st Porsche experiience to be a Brand New Porsche.
So I paid an extra $5000-$8000 and got 90 less hp.
But the new interiors are worth something too.

Plus, this will keep me from racing or at least going TOO FAST!
Then again, on I-95 this car is so much easier to drive fast than any other car I have ever owned. It might not get to triple digit speeds as fast as a C6 or Z06, but it feels much better there.

raclaims -

The Targa will be great in warm weather, right now it is nice to have light coming in through the glass, it really brightens the mood inside the car, even my passengers feel that way, especially in the rear seat.
They said without the Targa they felt claustrophobic.

My Vette is a convertible, my Bald spot shows which is a negative.

gravedgr -

The deal is such a great part of the car buying experience.

I think buying a car and hammering out a deal is one of my favorite things to do.

When I am not doing that I am usually buying and selling guitars on ebay or Musicians Friend as a hobby.

For example, I just bought a $2300 2005 Gibson Les Paul Brand New for $1439 and a New $1000 Fender American Standard Strat for $799. To help pay for my hobby, I sold a Gibson Les Paul Studio bought New 2 months ago for $650, I got $850 for it used.
Next up for auction is my Fender Telecaster

My mind is always working on something or I just stop working.
Kind of like a fish not swimming.
