sshjd will become famous soon enough
I sent my headers to Bill for ceramic coating (in silver) and they're on the way back to me now. On the basis of the sample piece he sent me, the work is nice! And Bill's a heck of a nice guy. When you call him, ask who he is coating for - some pretty impressive names/teams.

We use ceramic on anything that gets really hot like the tips and headers ect. and powdercoat on all the rest, wheels, grills, rollbars, that sort of stuff. thanks Bill @ Fuzion Perf Coatings.

Has anyone either tried or considered Jet Hot (http://www.jet-hot.com/headercoatings.html) on the exhaust tips?

Is Jet Hot a ceramic coating too?

If the tips are being coated by any of these processes, do they need to be polished a little bit prior to being coated?

you don't need to polish the tips before ceramic coating, but there is prep work that is done before the ceramic is applied, there are several types of ceramic product out there, We use ONLY the best products money can buy. as we specialize mainly in Porsche applications, We are certain you will be satisfied. anyone can p/m me if you have more specific/detailed questions about any ceramic/powder application. my best Bill

I saw some 997S tips during one of my track days that the guy primed and painted with high-temp engine spray paint in black. They looked awesome.

black tips

Here is a picture of a black 997 tip in the Black ceramic, this was coated for a very large dealership in Florida, we coat many of these every week, also available in graphite grey and other colors available upon request. you will never have to touch up or re/coat. this stuff is made to last and look good.
