Service in 8 Days?

I have been getting a Service in X Days message for the last few weeks when I start the car. I presume this is for the annual service? I got this done last June so it shouldn't be time again yet. Maybe it didn't get reset.

My question is how do I reset this if possible. Yes I know this is probably in the manual but I don't have one.

Seem to remember reading that this requires a trip to the dealer for reset. Don't believe there is a charge for the service. Perhaps you can have them turn this wonderful feature off. I am waiting to see if I get one for 2 yr/20K mile service.

Thanks for the reply but I hope there is another way. I don't like the idea of making a 2 hour trip each way to the dealer just for that.

I overheard the service guy tell someone else, this could be due to something as simple as cornering fast with a small amount of gas. Just a guess.
