Filing a complaint w/ the BBB is like filing a complaint w/ the State Building Contractors Board. There's no punitive or enforcement policies w/ either so unless you take the litigation road, resolution is non existent.

I tired and it works. They have people contact the dealership and talked to the GM.
I am not saying it must work, but it is free and easy.

CD changer can be replaced, and paint finish can probably be polished out, so no biggies there. Anything else not quite right?
+1....

To me it seems like, once again if someone has a chance to get over on you (the dealer) they do. Not fair AT ALL. It's not the money as much as someone's word they give you, and you want to believe them. I say to the guys who are telling him to just let it go... send him $250 to to detail the car & a stereo. Easier said than done, huh?
If you ask someone to do something and they promise you they'll do it (for free)... then they don't. I'd say that's not a very honorable person. But to charge money for something & not deliver is thievery. Then tell the guy to be happy 'cause he scored a deal buying the car from the U.S.? Please... give me a break.

I got same problem when i bought my car from the dealer in Alabama. they guy who work at the dealer told me "I'm 99% sure it has NAV" and when I received it there is no NAV. When I called him he said well it's your car now and if you want I can help you sell it for someone else.

It sounds like you either A) Bought it from a fly by night dealer on the Corner not a certified Porsche dealer or B) a Dealer that isn't concerned with their reputation. I can assure you this sort of thing would never happen at my store. We sell vehicles all over the country and yes sometimes out of the country. We have worked to hard to build our reputation and it's simply not worth harming over such "in the big picture a small amount of money".

Since you aren't getting any help from the salesperson I would speak directly to the GM. On behalf of every US Certified Porsche dealer I would like to offer my apologies in advance if this is a true Porsche Dealer. If the GM isn't willing to help out at all, let them know you would be happy to post your experience on every forum on the web. If my GM heard this type of story from one of our clients the salesperson would more than likely be fired.

With all this said and lets say you don't get anywhere please take your car to a GOOD local detail shop and then put an IPod connection in and then go out and enjoy your new Porsche. It's not the cars fault try to have fun with it. Plus you'll be much happier with the Ipod over the CD changer in the trunk anyway.

P.S> By the way Cayenne KSA you really didn't go ahead and purchase a vehicle from a dealer that said " I'm 99% sure it has Nav" did you? WOW! Are you kidding me. He should have been able to answer that question in 2 seconds "without a doubt it has Nav or no it doesn't".

I once had some issues with a MBenz dealership and never got replies from the emails I sent. So I contacted the local District Attorney's office and this was his advice:

"... You can also file a formal complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs"

If the GM won't help you, maybe you can search for their local DCA and tell them about your complaint. Where is this dealership anyway and do you mind sharing the name? Might help potential buyers to avoid these crooks.

Best of luck and what the others have said, "Enjoy your new ride !!!"

sounds like it wasn't a porsche dealer... he hasn't answered yet??
where did he go? Maybe flying back to U.S. to demand his cd player!!!

i have to agree though.. regardless of where he got it... that sucks..I'd fight to get some retribution myself ...but at some point you have to let go.. sounds like its not that terrible... only cd player and some swirl marks...

You really shouldn't do so much work especially cosmetic stuff when you are shipping the car overseas. A lot of things can happen.

Having said that, your car should have been inspected upon shipping and the swirl would have been documented. If so, you have proof that swirls were there to start.

CD changer is easy to proof - bill of sales vs. a picture of no cd changer.

With proof, you can file suit at a small claim court where dealer resides. You can retain a lawyer (which isn't worth it) or possible designate someone to represent you. If this is not possible, you are left at the mercy of the dealer which unless they are reputable and have an incentive to do the right thing, you are screwed.

How did you pay for the car? Any part of it with a credit card that you can chargeback?

I've bought cars unseen but only when there is factory warranty and i had friends eyeball it.
