I live in frankfort and commute daily into the city, 34 miles. I can tell you that my c4s cab handles as good as my wifes R350 in snow. I can not speak to the c2 but given the snow situation we are blessed with here in IL, I would go AWD.

 

I live in the burbs and even though I have the snow tires on my 06 C2S, I really couldnt drive it every day. I love the car, but it does get a little squirrelly in the snow. I think the C4 would be a better choice. Neither car has much storage though. Have you thought about a 07 Audi RS4? Ive seen them around 60K with low miles. It will carry your clubs and all your friends .

 

Chicago roads will get nothing but worse with the budgetary crisis coming. I got a 335xi as a daily driver.

 

I would highly recommend a C4S or get really good snow tires!
